No clear patterns of play. No way of playing through the middle.  Very poor concentration at the start of games that end up changing how we play as we are chasing early.

the positives are that he’s giving everyone a run out and not neglecting players. He doesn’t respect any particular player, anyone can get subbed or not start. We are playing further up the pitch.

he seems like a tinkerer for the sake of it but my hope is that he’s been given some license to move things around and see how things work or not.

personally I think we are not drilled enough and some players like Paq and Kudus make very poor decisions in terms of when to pass and when to move. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why he’s taking them off. As impressive as it is to see Kudus run with 4 players around him, that’s just kind of dumb in this league. He passes that ball and he’s taken 4 players out.

we really need to learn how possession football works and maybe that’s the issue with this team who are used to “kick and run” counter attacking.

But very mid to poor today for me considering Brentford aren’t all that.

Another utterly dreadful match. Lopetegui proving yet again he has no clue what he is doing. Not one player can be said to be in form.

£140m spent and we are worse than last season.

What a horrendous appointment. Sullivan needs to step down as chairman.

Trying to be positive:
Unbeaten away in 3 games we lost last season conceding 13 goals
3 tough home games against teams in the top 5

That said Ipswich has to be beaten

For what it's worth thought Todibo was superb looks very comfortable on the ball Soucek not far behind.
Bowen looks well off the pace and he certainly isn't a captain.

I’m not convinced.

we are all over the place at times.

we look unbalanced and disjointed.
Paqueta continues to lose the ball in midfield, you’d think he’d learn.

Kudus was our best player under Moyes, now he is being pulled off at half time, it’s a big red flag for me.

anyway respect the point, don’t respect the performance.

Onwards and Upwards!

I thought Todibo and Bissaka were our best performers today.

shit peformance against a team with 9 players out, substitutions were hilarious. Kudas and Emerson off at half time and Mavropanos brought on to play right back, at least right back is further away from the goal so he can't fuck up as bad. This Manager is a fool

I don't understand how it's possible we weren't prepared for what they would do when the game started. The whole country were expecting it. Apart from that, it's at least a step in the right direction. Not sure if it was just watching on my phone, but both sides looked like they were playing in slow motion. Soucek scoring from open play on purpose is at least something. Ipswich is still going to be high pressure. Whatever was going on with the halftime subs better get sorted before then.

Suspect this type of result will be typical of our season, eek out results and just plod on, beat Ipswich next week and we're be around mid table and it will go quiet for a while. Bottom line though, we really aren't very good and still can't see any system or style of play, probably because there isn't one. Respect the point and fuck off.

didn't see the game today, but keeping some perspective here:

3 games lost:  City, Villa and Chelsea - all likely CL contenders. Chelsea put 4 past Brighton today for context

3 Unbeaten away against what we would consider lesser opposition resource wise

Yes, it hasn't been good recently, especially the cup tie, but we haven't had a representative run of games that tells us what the future holds under Lop. Anyone thinking we'd be world beaters with the squad we have, so many new players and a new manager needs to be patient. He must be given time to integrate new players and if he ends up going season he must at least be given enough rope to hang himself.

You have to say the fixture list has not been kind to us. Three of the current top 5 at home to start with and four of the top six in total.
next Saturday is a key game. We will know a lot more about the state of things after that. Three points already looking pretty vital though.

Yes. Even against a third string Brentford, given recent performances.

Maybe a draw stops the rot a little but we still seem worryingly fragile at times and too easily overwhelmed.

The jury is still out on Guido and Soler but I thought Todibo showed promise.

Onto Ipswich.  Surely we have to boss that match and win convincingly?

This result just shows how shit we are under the new manager. Playing for a draw towards the end rather than going for the 3 points. Paqueta goes off shaking his head in disappointment Kudas taken off at half-time. I think Julen has lost the dressing room already.
