WHUFC Ipswich Town (Home) | Match Predictions & Lineup

Post stubbo-admin »

Feels early to be calling this a must-win, but at the same time if you've got any aspirations to 'make a big noise' this season, Ipswich at home IS a must win.

Team for me:

                                Areola

Wan Bissaka      Todibo     Kilman    Emerson

                Soucek     Alvarez    Soler

         Kudus             Bowen            Paqueta

Result:

I can see a scrappy 1-0 here.

Here's some pre-match stuff:

At a push I'd replace Soucek with Soler. Paqueta has blown it, he's out.

                              Nips

Wan Bissaka Todibo Kilman Emerson

                            Alvarez

                   Soucek.   Kudus
Bowen.                                     Summerville

                             Antonio

Would much rather Fullkrug up top but Ings and Bowen are not physical enough and have also been crap. Antonio is the default depressing option.

What a waste of a transfer.

Probably not surprising for me to say but even with silly agents fees (if true) and lack of height, we could have spend that money on Jonathan David and probably been better off.

The latter is not injured at least and if nothing else converting penalties against Real Madrid.

My prediction - it's going to just start to come together:

3-2 win.

I agree, but give me 11 Soucek's over players who half-arse it.

I'm going to say something really stupid now though; I'd chuck him up front. He can hold the call up as a target man, and would probably do a better job than Antonio, who's like Old Yeller at this point and needs taking to the back of the barn and putting out of his misery.
Well however bad Antonio is I assure you he has double the technical ability as Soucek. Bowen up top is the answer, or maybe Kudus.....then Ings......then i'd give Areola a go up there before Soucek......actually i'd see if Brady can run the channels first.....then get potato salad :D
I think Soucek probably has the best understanding of the game in the team. He shouldn't be up front though, he plays fine shielding the defense and knows when to get up front and score. But yes passing and a bit of skill is not his strength. I'd also put him on the bench and bring on if we both need a goal and to keep it tight.
Not correct to say Paqueta does nothing. He got us the draw against Brentford and has been our best play maker this season. But yes, gives the ball away too much, that has lead to shiping goals. Its a debate if he is worth while given the pros and cons, but I would have him starting with out a second thought.
My worry with Paqueta is whether his head is in it. Pending decision on his future and the move to Man City collapsed. Does he want to play for West Ham.

,..............Areola
Bissaka Todibo Kilman Emerson
Bowen Paqueta Soler Summerville
.................Ings Kudus

3-0
That's a proper shit lineup, gets beat badly.

I did say it was far too risky spending so much on a 31yo. Surprised that even the porn dwarf agreed to sign off on the huge deal for 1 so old. Maybe Steidtens topped him and nick all his access codes to his bank before doing a madness with his grubby money..

I'm so underwhelmed going to yet another game where rather than expectation, it's replaced with trepidation, let's be honest we should destroy Ipswich but I expect a feeble performance overcome with fear from the players and we walk away with a score draw.

Hopefully one day we'll appoint a manager who knows how to play on the front foot and get results

Lose this one and I'm firmly in the Lop out camp.  Performances have been unacceptable we have made shiter sides look like Real Madrid and have been getting tonked by the top 4 sides.

I don't think any of us, including Loppy, are even close to knowing the best line-up and formation, which is a bit of a worry. But whoever plays and in whichever position, the main thing is that the manager needs to get a tune out of them, both individually and collectively. In theory, against a hardworking but so-called lesser side, this should be an ideal opportunity to show some progress in that direction.

But Bowen and Paqueta need a performance.  Hopefully Orford and Ghillurme on the bench if they dont perform.

Irving can also be pushing for more involement.

Fed up of watching the likes of Paq Soucek Alvarez Rodriguez Coufal Cresswell etc be shite every single time. Give the youth a chance they can't be any worse
