Fulkrug not even fit enough for the bench when the club said he was close to a return 2 weeks ago.
Antonio starts again despite doing less than nothing to earn it.

Not exactly what i would have seen, but let's hope Løpe finally gets it right and we get a win

This isn’t an easy game.
Ipswich have drawn away at Brighton and home with Villa. You need to be well organised to get those results.
it will be tight and they’ll fancy this game as much as we do.

Onsideman, I'd have liked to see some changes as well. It's a good test, should be an easier game than all the games we've played and Lopetegui has settled on a starting lineup so we can expect to see a better team performance.
We'll see.

Re: West Ham vs Ipswich Town (Home) | 5.10.24 | Match Thread
I feel like he has drawn the opposite conclusion to what most of the fans have been thinking for the last few years. It's basically a Moyes team that plays higher up the pitch. He expects the fluidity in midfield to just happen somehow but he's not changing the personnel to do that. So he's got to work pretty hard to coach that in or he's just doing what we've done for years here.
He should be worried that he is relying on Soucek to score goals because thats not his job. The forwards are meant to do that and his system isnt making that happen.
I'm not worrying just yet because I think he's a smart man and will work it out for himself.
None of this should matter against Ipswich. But if we struggle to get a result here it will indicate he isnt really solving any of his problems.

Re: West Ham vs Ipswich Town (Home) | 5.10.24 | Match Thread
today will be more of a true barometer of how we will fare this season. We all know that Ipswich at home will be thought of as a home banker for most top half teams, but they've taken 4 points in 4 draws, impressively including against Villa and Brighton. Theyve only lost to City and
This will be FAR from a cake walk, I think it will be a close and competitive game. A well drilled outfit against a squad full of talent that is still figuring out how to play as a team.

I don't get it?
Obviously I hope they gel, but this starting 11 was so awful at Brentford that we were very lucky to only be 1 down at half time when he felt it necessary to make 2 changes

Should be ok if they don't conceded a goal in first few minutes.
Re: West Ham vs Ipswich Town (Home) | 5.10.24 | Match Thread
Disappointed with Antonio starting, but this lineup should still have no problem with Ipswich. That is if this game weren't a very unwanted early pressure cooker.

Reasonable selection. At least there is some consistency there.
Can nit pick over a couple of spots at the moment of course. Biggest disappointment for me is it means Kudus will be on the left side again.
