"I'll give you an extra point for that East. Funnily enough I bizarrely did O Level Roman History at school and failed miserably. As a 14/15 year old I thought it would all be about Spartacus and gladiators but it was more about buildings and baths! Boring at the time but as I have got older I appreciate how far ahead civilizations like this were at the time. Drainage and sanitation isn't much fun for a teenager and wasn't much help for my working history but it can be a fascinating subject. European Culture 1. "11 for me thanks Zico I think you will find that Watling Street was longer than the Fosse Way. However, I accept that Watling was not a name for a Ditch. The actual length of a single Roman road is not that simple because they often merge. I believe Watling Street was considered as the most important, but I guess only if you wanted to travel between Dover and Wroexter (and later Chester) What did they do for us eh?"
