I'm sure that some people feel that while some houses have a lawn/garden or there's a public open space on which a home can be built then the UK has room to welcome without fetter anyone from anywhere - it is, after all OUR (not their, mind you) responsibility to do so.

Is nobody looking at the root cause (there's only one) as to why prisons are full to bursting? Why NHS waiting lists are so big? Why the roads & railways are struggling with capacity?

OK, it's a fucking big elephant but it's still in OUR room, even if you can't - or more likely won't - see it.

Genuine asylum seekers will claim asylum in the first safe country they pass through. These asylum grifters are from criminal gangs, exploiting our generosity and weakness

In fact, illegal migrants are more likely to arrive in the country on a plane, with a student visa, go and work in their cousin's Indian restaurant or market stall (One pound fish guy) and go nowhere near a university, than make a dangerous journey on a rubber dingy across the sea.

Doesn't matter how you spin it, these are people that the nation - any nation - had not expected or could never have anticipated turning up in the planning process of national infrastructure.

To do so would be like London planning for a Volcano to erupt on The Strand - and expecting English taxpayers to pay for insurance against that happening.
