1. We didn’t fire Moyes.
2. We’ve been shit for the last 2.5 seasons. The European wins masked our horrendous league form.
3. We were very fortunate to finish in the top half last season. We had several lucky wins, many worse thrashings than today, and an awful goals against record.
4. The football for the last two seasons has been turgid in the league.
5. This doesn’t mean that Lopetegui isn’t also accountable. But it does mean that you should shut the fuck up about Moyes. He’s gone. No one else has seen fit to employ him either. Get over it.

Billy Sollocks,

Nobody was happy with the way last season unfolded after such a solid start, that doesn’t mean you run out and fire the manager straight away fg! Especially after he delivered Euro success for the first time in his knows how long. I said back then that if we fire him we run the risk of fucking it all up and sure enough we have.

So stop your silly, stubborn defense of your stupidity and realize it’s a fuck up!

Here’s to another 50years!

Oh here she is back again for some more are you Nustain you just dont know when to give it up...

The European glory you talk of was the season before last. That season we ended up 14th after a season long relegation battle.

The reason we are not in Europe this season is because of your hero Moyes underperformance and his utter capitulation after Xmas due to his refusal or was it inability to a) have a bigger squad and b) utiltise the whole squad he did have...  we therefore went from 6 before new year to 10th and then finished 9th...

We currently sit 13th and as far as I can recall relegation isn't decided based on that position.

Jesus you lot need to get your facts straight before coming on here spouting bollocks... but then what do you expect from Trump supporting yanks....

Agree Ron Eff. Its not helping results they are the same as under Moyes but Moyes race was run and he had from 2022 ( Feb / March when our league form started to unravel) and only had a brief recovery for 10-15 games before xmas 23/24 but even then the performances were poir but results and rub of green went our way.

He doesn’t play the same way as Moyes you plank. We had 42% possession in a 4-1 defeat. Comparatively against Spurs we had 26 and 33 last season. Our downfall is often committing players too far forward rather than having everyone behind the ball.

That’s not to say it’s going well. It clearly is shit, but it’s a different kind of shit. Let’s stop the “same style as Moyes” nonsense though. Ironically Moyes pragmatic style might have served us better in the 2nd half today to help us maybe only lose 2-1.

Doesn’t seem like the right appointment, but it was categorically the right decision to get rid. Typically we follow a good decision with a bad one.

3 successive years in Europe 3 top half finishes, a european trophy, yh really ineffective. Half of our fan base has become what we swore we would never be...... like fans at other clubs, spuds and gooners just to name a few.

Kudus played like an individual. Needed to make better decisions. He's had a shit week and taken the brunt of Ghanas bad performances. His frustration has now meant he has time to think about it. Greedy isnt going to work if we are going to win games.

Aerola doesnt seem to inspire much confidence. His inability to pass to a team mate is worrying.
Kilman was hit and miss today, Todibo likes to dive in to nick the ball but got spun several times leaving a big gap and him chasing back. If that is his trait then there needs to be cover and he needs to make sure if he misses the tackle that the player gets brought down.

Defending corners today wasnt comfortable. Lots of missed headers and indecision.

I thought Bowen worked very hard but the same cant be said of everyone. Rodriguez made some vital blocks and challenges. Clearly a player who reads the game well. He also made some good cross field balls. Something I wish others could do instead of giving in back to Aerola to hoof back to nobody.

Antonio was poor for me. Seemed gassed after 20minutes and really didnt make enough runs or efforts to win the ball. He's finished as a starter.
None of the subs had an impact but the game was lost by then. Spurs had their tails up, we were ragged and taking wild risks.
As we saw with the Chelsea game, we are way too soft and need to change the mentality of the side. Need much more energy, desire and I want to see more communication.

Please bring back Fabianski. Way more reliable overall and better at kicking. Aerola needs a break.

Was only listening on the wireless but I wasn't confident even after going 1-0 up as it seemed inevitable the pressure was mounting when we had given nearly 15 corners away in under half an hour. Lop needs to sort it out sharpish or he's curtains.

European football glory lol.

all we’ve done is continue the form from the last 20 games of last season. The rot had truly set in last season and the new manager hasn’t found an answer to it.

Soler and Alvarez or Rodruiguez would seem the best we can put together. Paqueta should not be starting, Soucek too. But saying that, dont try making the central midfield step back into a 5 man back line. In the Prem, the pace and physicality, it leaves acres of space in midfield.

the above combo wont solve the pace/legs/strength problem alone. But best of whats available imo.  Recruitment will solve it but will mean selling our best player next summer unfortunately.  At the moment we are still more ( with squad we have ) suited to low block and counter football especially against top half teams. Moyesball with a bit more passing which Moyes was seeing increasingly fail in 2022,2023 and 2024 in the league.

Our transition this season is really turning into an inadequate squad for what we are trying to do ( running before able to walk ) and what is beginning to look like a naive, not savvy enough manager to oversee it

Steidten has next summer to put right and fill shortfall in recruitment

Mate.. I’m tired of this now. I don’t know if there are any answers to this shit really.

It’s a team of good players that lack direction and concentration.
Antonio doesn’t track their no.8 .. goal
Kudus never makes the obvious pass.. minute later where a goal down
areola distribution is just mental.
midfielders so slow that they can’t keep up with a transition etc

The only thing to take positive from the game is that I never expected to win it. The negative is that how we are losing is not because teams have better players, rather we just make poor decisions for no reason.

even the subs at 2-1 that took 10 minutes to come on. It made no sense. Was it that you decided that low block was bad all of a sudden? If so, why not make the change at half time? To me that was just really fucking weird. They made 1 change and you make 3? I don’t get it?

This league is about who makes the least mistakes. It’s so tight.  You have to drill your teams to not make mistakes. That’s all it is.

This is looking like a mid table if we’re lucky season. I’m not sure if this guy is for us. Too many basic mistakes and lack of concentration. He Really needs to resolve this very soon.

btw: kudus can you fucking pass? Just once? Please?? FFS

Indeed, why would you buy someone of Soler's reputed quality and not involve him more?
