Agree with you, Miike, but I’ll give him a pass on Pellegrini as it was a bold approach for a Prem winner at the time after we had all been bored stupid by Moyes. It was an expensive disaster but most of us were pleased with the appointment at the time and didn’t predict how it would turn out.

However, that expensive mistake is being repeated right now and you most certainly can blame Sullivan this time, and Lopetegui wasn’t top of anyone’s list.

West Ham manager selection criteria:

1.  Will the club have to pay compensation/meet a buy out clause?
2. Is the manager  under consideration on the books of Salthouse?
3. There are no further criteria.

 

 

There is other criteria.
4. Must have previously managed at a big club, no matter how successfully.
5. Must have managed previously in the Premier League. Again, less important how successful they were.

Sullivan will never push the boat out and take a chance with a young, up and coming manager. The closest he came was Bilic.
