If not Bowen, who?
If not Bowen, who?
As much as he's been adopted as the new Mr West Ham, it seems to be the consensus amongst everyone that Bowen is not cut for the captain's role. So who does everyone think should replace him? Soucek? Fabianski?

Another vote for Kilman, Alvarez a shout but maybe too much of a hot head.
Bowen seems a nice guy but not really leadership material, just my observation and gut feel more than anything else though, you don’t see a leader when he plays though?

From watching the games I would think Soucek too, but then you listen to his post match interviews and I think again. He's not the, erm, best communicator in the world. Not so much his language skills but even his body language. I can't imagine him firing the players up in the dressing room before the game.

We don’t have an obvious leader in the team who is also a first choice so I’d stick with Jarrod.

Re: If not Bowen, who?
In my view it's Soucek. Maybe not beyond this season, but as things stand he has to be in our first choice XI (just because of how bad all the others are) and he's one you actually has the stature to be a captain.
Maybe Bowen will grow into Club Captain, but on the field, Soucek is who it needs to be. Kilman is too quiet. Bowen is too and lacks stature. Fabianski too old. Everyone else either too new, too weak, or not assured of their place in the team.

Loppy wanted Killman so much we paid 40m for him, so I presumed he was going to be his captain as he was at Wolves.

Re: If not Bowen, who?
There isn't any captain material in the entire squad. It's amazing having spent so much money that none of our defensive players are proper leaders. Which is a major reason the team is so vulnerable.
