US Election, November 5th

Post Sydney_Iron »

And a bit eerily and worryingly Bonfire night!!!! Let's hope it doesn't descend into that though 🤞

Never know an election be in the news so much, all over Aussie TV and expect the worlds TV as well, so many (non Septic's) have an opinion on it as well? WTF

fuck knows who wins, personally don't care as both sides seem like a pack of cunts, so IMHO there will be no winner for the American people, the best we can hope for is that one side wins convincingly and so less chance of it kicking off but i bet whomever wins none of the doomsayers predictions will come to pass in any shape or form, it will just be business as usual and snouts in the trough for those associated with the winning side.

America will still be a freak show and your average American no better or worse off than before.

I thought that all the votes haven’t been counted yet so not sure what your point is frankly. Shit campaigns don’t inspire people to vote rather than switch.

It’s an unfortunate reality of the modern world where politics occupies loyalties that religion probably used to. Switching votes for most is tantamount to a WH fan becoming an Arsenal fan. Even when the football is shit that will never happen.

Your missing votes are probably there. Disappointed voters don’t bother….

Isn't Italy run by a populous right wing party, these days? Exactly the sort of politicians that Trump loves? Going to be interesting if he starts banging on at them to pay their share.

Just an idea of where to search for your missing 14 million

Trump was down a couple of million voters so clearly his wonderful campaign didn't better 2020 unless the point of it was to persuade Dem voters last time not to bother.
Kamala Harris got 67 odd million votes this time. In 2020 Biden got over 81 million votes. They clearly didn't swap over to Trump. Don't know how to make it any easier for you to understand.

Is it going to be like he went to Korea and made peace between the North and South?
Shouldn't you be more concerned with getting the 9 members of NATO that aren't paying 2% of their GDP to stump up?

I would have thought that would be more important for your needs.

You don’t think that it’s possible that a majority of Americans prefer tax cuts, immigration restrictions, encouraging business, ending wars and ‘Making America Great’ over woke name calling, 20 million illegals, fast rising cost of living and irrelevant virtue signaling policies?

Weird these Americans aren’t they?
Well clearly not as those voters didn't swap sides, they just stayed at home.

OSD

Accusing the majority of 'Trumpers' are in a cult is exactly the kind of sneering attitude I was talking about earlier,no wonder they got hammered.

And for balance, the dems have a base of voters that would rather fry their own kidneys than vote for the other lot.

I think the big question Democrats need to ask is why 14 million odd voters who voted for Biden, last time, didn't bother going out for Harris? Trump was actually a couple of million votes down from 2020 so they didn't go there and the majority of Trump's base is so caught up in a cult like grip, it wouldn't have mattered who the Dems put up, they wouldn't be swapping sides. Was there something about Harris that rubbed them up the wrong way? It would be interesting if the media could dig out some of these 14 million voters and find out what was going on.

cant you debate the point without resorting to homophobic insults?
I've never known him to.  It happens normally about 2 or 3 posts after he's lost another yet another argument.

I think, more to the point is why, in 2024, he - and a few other posters on here - regard calling out a person of any sexuality that they don't identify with/accept as any sort of insult.
More ironically, when trying to debate politics in a civilised manner on here with other posters, he resorts to needless, childish insults which is just the kind of rhetoric the anti-Trump liberal lot accuse Trump of doing...
