I doubt they see the Irony in it all, that so many gave their lives fighting Real Fascists so these entitled cunts can get away with this sort of thing.
Very sad for the UK if true.
Pro-Palestine mobs' plan to disturb Armistice Day events exposed
Pro-Palestine protesters are planning to 'swarm' cities across the UK and disturb Armistice Day events with a series of 'highly coordinated' protests, it was claimed last night.
Youth Demand, which stemmed from the student branch of Just Stop Oil, is plotting to hold anti-Israel demonstrations in five cities next week.
You come out with this same bollocks every year, doubt you even realise it though.

I hope everyone is paying suitable respect to our fallen soldiers, today.... by tucking into their Tesco poppy pizzas. Never forget.

Re: Remembrance Day 2024
I was at Tamworth today and they announced a minute or two before the match that the last post would be played. They finished playing some cheerful pop music and as the teams were led out by representatives of the British Legion and the RAF there was the usual clapping and cheering of the teams. The reps went to the centre circle while the teams shook hands and ran off to complete their warm ups, kicking the ball around etc. Nobody seemed to realise what was going on. We stood up, no-one else did. While the players continued to warm up the announcer read the poem out whilst no-one listened. Then they started playing a recording of the last post, the mascots were ushedred towards the centre circle, quickly joined by both teams and finally the linesmen, by which time it was nearly over. So they played it again. To be fair, once the teams started running to the centre circle, the fans quietened down and observed the playing of the last post in silence. But what a shambles.

Re: Remembrance Day 2024
There is a website called 'Find My Past' where I have an account. I've received an email from them with this message that might be interesting for some of you:
"Every family has a connection to war. What’s yours? Discover and commemorate the bravest ancestors in your family tree with detail-packed census records, military documents and newspaper articles.
To help you piece together a richer picture of your wartime past, we’ve made the 1921 Census, our entire newspaper archive, all military records and everything on Findmypast FREE until 11 November."
You might have to create an account to use the site, but it looks like searches into your family members' war records, etc, would be free for a couple of days if you are curious.

Re: Remembrance Day 2024
I am very political at points but this is just personal for me.
For my grandfather - the engineer - who lived and could not talk about most of it.
And for the stories my dad told me about his hero and idol who died when he was 9. His uncle Teddy was a rear gunner that met his end in the back of a bomber over Germany.

Re: Remembrance Day 2024
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
