Re: Bishop and Morley!
The true story is that Morley ( I real pikey) and Bish were spit roasting some girl and Morley's missus caught them and stabbed him. Then Ray Stewart leaked it to a journalist mate I thing in the The Evening Standard.
I know everything but posters on here should already know that.

So he still wants to murder people then.

Re: Bishop and Morley!
The exchange for Ward was one of the best bits of business this club ever did.
Re: Bishop and Morley!
It wasn’t money, he had a temper problem and one day beat the shit out of his sister. He was cleared of that despite being guilty so the sister’s boyfriend went round his mum’s house with a mate and stabbed not only CD but his mother as well, as she had backed him against her daughter.
He later showed his true colours by beating a team mate half to death in the changing room after a match for criticising his play, for which he was sacked and nicked. He just floated around non league after that.

Re: Bishop and Morley!
Morley always put in a shift particularly when paired with Jimmy (the tree) Quinn
One of the most static footballers I have ever seen at any level.

Morley was as brave as they come and ended up with metal plates in his head after clash when playing for Reading
I read he now runs some king of shelter for addicts in Norway which is where I think his wife was from.
Wasn't Callum Davidson also stabbed by a family member ?Calum Davenport, wasn't it?
Wasn’t it his Sisters boyfriend. Something about money that he refused to pay and so the bloke targeted his legs so he couldn’t play anymore. Or something.

Berkovic and Benayoun similar on a lesser level.
those types are what we badly lack now .
Take you point Mons fella, but for me Berkovic and Benayoun were a level or two above the Bish. Dev was a winger, so not so comparable.
Dev was more of a floater than a winger imo .
Differing opinions are good for the soul if done in the right manner my Spanish friend.

Never a great player of course, but had good hold up play, played with a swagger and always fancied him to nick a goal, particularly when we were in the old second division. Was never too fussed about Bish, but he did ping some great passes (sorry Sold).
Man of his time.
top bloke by all accounts .

Re: Bishop and Morley!
I remember Glen Hoddle writing a piece about how Bishop typifies an intelligent passing footballer

Good mates they were.
Morley's missus alledgedly a bit of a nutter by all accounts.

Morley's missus alledgedly a bit of a nutter by all accounts.
From Wikipedia:
Morley was stabbed by his wife in 1991, he later speculated that she was behind false accusations of him being in a homosexual relationship with friend and teammate Ian Bishop. Morley stated “The rumours about me being gay killed me for a while. I’ve got nothing against gays – I now have friends who are gay – but it's not nice to be called a homosexual when you aren't one. How many times does Robbie Williams have to come out and tell the world he isn't gay? The more you say it, the more people start to believe it's true... It ruined my football for a while. I'd go out onto the field and hide. I didn't want to be there... Hearing gay comments from some West Ham fans was hard to take.”
