Re: West Ham United Women
The women beat Spurs in the quarter final of the League Cup in midweek. It’s always nice to beat that lot. A couple of terrible goals, plus one decent one. Unfortunately they’ve got Chelsea in the semi final so a heavy defeat beckons. There is a massive gap in the Women’s Premier League.

Sunday 26th January:
West Ham United Women 15:00 Everton Women
Chigwell Construction Stadium
Bit of a six pointer, we should have a chance here. Everton just above us by 2 points in 10th.

Re: West Ham United Women
Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 West Ham United women's team
We're still 9th. We fought back from 2-0 to get 2-2, but let a late goal in. Brighton are 3rd so it was atough fixture.
Sad to admit I forgot to give the heads up as I thought it was on Sunday.

I can't ecept that we ignore the women, for whatever reason. Probably just me meeting my wake equlity needs, so at least I'm kind of happy with it! Hope Leonard has got over his tantrum and can avoid opening the thread in the future.
Also there's a chance we get this season's first womens win today...
I think you're guilty of falling for a sleight of hand here. West Ham football club, the team, and the fan culture that surrounds it is implicitly male. The women's team is piggy backing on this and implying it's all West Ham. It's not. It's a parasite.
To be clear I have nothing against women playing the game and wish them luck. I have a daughter and I take her to games (normal games as in the men's game) and if she likes it when she is older I would encourage her to play in the women's game.
But the motivation for the contemporary push of the women's game are many. There is of course a grass roots movement of women that are just interested in the game and want to play it. But there are other less benign motivations which I think you may be ignoring. The clubs see it as potential untapped source of revenue and know if they create a market for it as big as the normal game (men's) it's worth billions. Fair enough, perhaps, just capitalism you may say. But also the culture war people see the normal game as a bastion of socially conservative culture: blokes bonding over beer drinking, patriotism and singing songs mocking benders and fighting. So pushing the women's game with its overrepresentation of dykes etc is seem as cultural antidote to that social conservatism of working-class bloke culture they despise. This latter motivation is why the BBC and Lineker types are so busy pushing it.
So this thread is a bit an anathema to the interests of many posters on here.

Re: West Ham United Women
Fraser is.
I know because he told us
so.
Blackburn rovers away .
he was giving it large in his pants and Lonsdale vest at half-time ..telling everyone how his missus is the goal hanger for Sidcup ..he also said his missus will one day soon be payed the same as the blokes.
