HP sauce and/or English mustard and fried bread instead of hash browns; so it’s eggs, bacon, sausage, fried tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread.

I think a mod should have a look at these posts. If that dead swan pic got modded people advocating ketchup on bangers is surely beyond the pale.

Ah, you again, you're weird. Wasn't it you that was adamant that baked beans shouldn't be on a fry up?

I think both tom and brown are fine on a sausage or bacon sannie, or mustard, just depends on what you fancy. Oh, and chuck a few onions in as well, if sausage.

if it's only those hot dog type ones on offer, then tomato sauce with mustard.

I was AMAZED and ANGERED that on buying my fish finger sandwich, there was no tartar sauce available. salad, yes, tartar sauce, no. WTF?
Greggs do a fish finger sandwich?

Nurse, spot on with the tomatoes vs baked bean scenario.

especially if you’re in that hotel breakfast with hangover scenario.

poke a fork in the tomatoes and that juice usually goes everywhere, baked beans are much more controllable, especially at that time of the day.

A fry up is fatty by nature. Fatty foods aren't dry. You overcooking your meats and hard boiling your eggs? And even if you were, brahn sauce would sort that out.

I am with Manuel 50% on this one. Hash browns are an abomination. However, with regard to beans vs tomatoes on a fry-up, tomatoes are not sweet enough to properly balance the salt overload of bacon, black pudding and sausages. Baked beans are the ticket.

I think even BBC verify would confirm that baked beans don't belong in a proper fry up. It's an interloper. A culinary cancer in mid mitosis right there on the plate. The sugary sauce metastasizing onto your bacon and eggs.

Won't say no to onions though.

Baked beans have no place in a fry up. However I will concede the the hash brown. Tbh on the rare ocassion I do one at home i grill everything. Much healthier. Of course not the eggs

Hash browns are another interloper. But they are sexy. You can forgive people for getting their heads turned with that one. A red blooded Englishman getting a stiffy from a tin of Heinz backed beans showing a bit of leg is depraved.
