Saturday football

Post Coffee one sugar »

LEICESTER CITY vs CHELSEA (1230)
The Foxes may be in 15 spot, but they still face a challenge to maintain their place in the top flight. Chelsea, in third, have built on last season’s promise and will hope to add more points in their unlikely hunt for second. Away win.

BOURNEMOUTH vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1500)
There are six places but just four points between these two. And with home advantage, you’d expect the Cherries to start favourites. But Brighton won’t give in easily. Draw.

ARSENAL vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST (1500)
Incredibly, both these sides are level on points, thanks largely to the hosts’ propensity for generosity.
Arsenal can’t be happy with their early season form and this is exactly the type of fixture that they will look to for maximum points. Forest, though, aren’t the pushover they were a year ago. Home win.

ASTON VILLA vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1500)
Villa are ninth but just a single point from the top three. Palace, meanwhile, are in the bottom three and there’s between little and nowt to suggest they’ll improve things today. Home win.

EVERTON vs BRENTFORD (1500)
The Toffees have scratched their way out of the relegation zone, but still have a job to do to stay out of it. On the other hand, Brentford have messed up royally this season, having lost all their away games. Home win.

FULHAM vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (1500)
If Fulham had held on to their lead over us a few weeks ago, they’d only have Liverpool and Man City above them. But ifs and buts don’t win football games. Just ask Gary O’Neil, whose side sit second from bottom and looking at a relegation battle. Things don’t look too rosy for them. Home win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1730)
Clearly the game of the day. City have fouled up of late and Spurs, currently 10th, could end the day in 14th. Should be a good game, but is this the time that the hosts pull their socks up? Yep. Home win.

SUNDAY

SOUTHAMPTON vs LIVERPOOL (1400)
Bottom plays top. What else do you expect? Away win.

IPSWICH TOWN vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1630)
The hype around Man U’s new boss may soon prove to be justified and they’ll be pleased with what the fixture computer has calculated for them today. The Tractor Boys won’t. Away win.

MONDAY

NEWCASTLE UNITED vs WEST HAM UNITED (2000)
A cold, Monday night game in the far northeast. Not what we’d really want. Home win.

If I was Rodri I’d be asking for a pay rise
Look very vulnerable without him & you might question how hungry they are after 4 titles in a row
Walker as said is past his best , DeBruyne seems to be injured more often than not & bringing Gundogan back doesn’t seem a positive
Letting Cole Palmer go looks a worse decision every day especially as Grealish seems a waste of money
Needs to freshen up the team if Pep is staying 2 more seasons

0-3

I’d be delighted if we looked that good, and they’ve been terrible 😆

Another TV commentator thing that really winds me up, Vicario went down like he’d been taken out when Savinho hardly touched him, takes a few minutes out of the game by rolling around like the soft piece of shit he is.  He then pathetically limps a few minutes later and the commentator says ‘there’s an injury concern here with Vicario’. Why don’t they call players out for being soft? Maybe they’re worried it’ll hurt their feelings.

Like I said, winds me up. Maybe I shouldn’t get wound up by it.

Walker does the same every game, regardless if it’s Manchester City or England - gets the ball in an attacking position, could whip an early cross in but instead stops the ball, rolls it back with his studs and then passes sideways or backwards.

The most boring/negative right back in world football I reckon. He can run fast in a straight line though.

Apart from Liverpool, PL results have been all over the place this term.

For about 7 years I have had an acca that was largely self-funding after an initial seed of 30 quid at the start of each season; this term I've already had to top it up twice, yet the criteria for match selection has not changed in all that time.

The current placings in the league table suggest some form of levelling out, but I can't quite work out how, where & why.

Man City are dreadful, cut open far too easily by an injury hit Spurs side.

Lucky for Guardiola that he signed his new contract.

Millwall losing at home to Sunderland
Medical emergency in the crowd (Bad AIDS?) after 40 mins so players taken off for half an hour
Come back for 5 mins then go off for half time
Surely they could just turn around for the second half?

Palace & Wolves both winning & Everton playing against 10 men at home to Brentford at 0-0
More pressure on Monday’s game

Flipping between games and am alarmed by the fact we look the slowest, disjointed team in the league. Only Leicester looked similar to us.

Emery’s Villa having their first spell under his charge.

Lovely Jubbly. Just shy of breaking even on a cash out following Chelsea's win.

Now watch it all turn into a stream of Vindaloo inspired lumpy farts over the next 2 hours...😢

What a Sunday afternoon snorefest. Saturday isn't much better.

Premier league your having a laugh

Needs renaming.
Get Santino Pietrosanti to do it and call it the new Non-Binary League (Sponsored by Jaguar, naturally). Then that way we might just climb the table with a fluid points system that changes to whatever points we'd like to have.

Said before it ain't Lopetegui who's the one that should be most fearful of his job should they lose today, it's Fat Ange. And if Arteta also lost today, it'll be him an all..

Spurs could be around 13th by the end of the weekend, he won't be sacked, yet, but fuck he'll be under pressure as bottom half looks real bad.

Nice to have the Premier and your Saturday football back. Only downer is a near impossible trip to a weather alerted (where's Ted?) northeast for the happy Hammers. But it ain't over until the final whistle goes.

Aston Villa (@ home v Crystal Palace - 6/10)
Fulham (@ home v Wolverhampton Wanderers - 8/13)
Chelsea (Away @ Leicester City - 1/2)
Liverpool (Away @ Southampton - 1/4)
Brentford (Away @ Everton - 19/10)
(Potential £139.31 for a £26.00 stake)

Not too fussed about the other games

((The champagne's already on ice and I'm busy re-arranging the deck chairs.))
