"I would have sentiment out of the window at this stage I think. Appreciate Fabianski has been told he’s the cup keeper, and he has clearly been a brilliant keeper for us, but Areola is now streets ahead of Fabianski’s current levels, and in the form of his life."

Liverpool will have to mess things up big time not to win this trophy.

"""European football of any kind should be a minimum requirement of any manager, that's where we are now and why we moved home!"" Yeah, exactly. Amazes me that so many people seem to forget this and think that Moyes has worked miracles when he's actually done the bare minimum of what should be expected now. If we wanted just to achieve the relative success of a Bolton or Everton and put up with the dreary football that went with it then we could have done that at Upton Park."

"atb Yep,possibly but not going to happen but 6 a relatively possibility. If Villa get through a tricky tie against an improving Ajax then as favourites they could/should win it outright. However I see them losing to Spurs at the weekend and swapping places with them eventually. Unless there is a shock or two then I can't see us going further than Q/F. Not with a defensive Moyes approach. Vilareal or Marseille at the moment are our best bet. One EL spot goes to FA Cup Winners, thus possibly losing one of the EL spots there."

Apart from GK and CB where changes are negligible I'd expect us to go full strength.

"7 Possible for Champions League 11 Currently possible for all Europe Comps, although if that actually happend, a cap may be enforced. Explained below: What's the maximum number of places in the UCL and in Europe? Under the old system, a maximum of five clubs from one association could play in the Champions League. It meant that in the unlikely event teams from the same league won the Champions League and Europa League, yet both finished outside the UCL places domestically, then fourth would have to surrender their place and drop into the UEL. But from 2024-25 it will be possible for seven Premier League teams to get a place in the UCL: The top four, fifth through league performance in Europe, and the winners of the UCL and the UEL. It would also technically be possible to have 11 Premier League teams in Europe: The usual allocation of seven, plus the extra Champions League place and the titleholders of all three European competitions (if they finished outside a European position.) UEFA has yet to take a decision on a maximum number in Europe from one association, though sources have indicated that it may be capped at 10 if this very unlikely scenario occurs, with a place in the UEL taken away."

"""Yes. Theoretically there could even be 7 PL teams in the CL next year, but that would require Arsenal or Man City winning it this year and dropping out of the top 5"" Unless the rules have changed, I don't think that is the case. In 2012, Chelsea finished 6th, won the Champions League and qualified for the next season's Champions' League. This dumped Spurs, who finished 4th, in a Champions' League spot, into the Europa League. An English team winning the Europa League, would go into the next season's CL. If they finish in the top 4 (or 5, if England get one of the two bonus places available) places), this wouldn't generate an extra CL place, for side that finished 5th/6th, in the league."

With Burnley at home to come we can go full strength tonight. I would start Areola but guess Fab comes in Possibly Aguerd (better in European games) for Zouma if Aguerd is fit.
