Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Have you seen us play this season? We are about as consistent as my sex life. Those games are only winnable if we play like we did at Newcastle.

If we get beaten, but get beaten badly and we look dazed and confused, then I think he will go.Sure, there's a way to lose and if that happens he will need to be put out of his misery before he ends up in Barley Lane. That said, I doubt this Leicester side could thrash a blind school.
Fair point about Leicester. That's exactly why I said if they do us tonight he's gone. They are hopeless.

Re: Lopetegui
Sullivan is the kind of owner who will never let a potentially successful outfit go to the next level. He insists on directorial control with a strict p&l agenda for the current year, is not interested in addressing operational issues, wants only to hear the good news and absolutely will not connect his own decision-making to the bad stuff going on. So the company goes into zombie mode, despite the turnover and investment numbers it posts in the reports and on the books. This is what we are seeing now.

Re: Lopetegui
Unforgivable that we're going to waste this run of 5 fixtures, probably the least demanding set of the season, on this complete fraud. Can't wait to see him channel Herbert Lom's twitch while speaking in tongues through another month's pressers.
If we lose or draw tonight and he's not gone by 9AM tomorrow Wolves needs to be Burnley 2.0

Re: Lopetegui
I suspect the continuing noise about candidates being lined up to replace him is just speculation.
Sullivan will look for any excuse not to act and admit he was wrong. He always has. It takes 6-8 defeats on the spin for him to act even when the coach was not his choice. Sullivan is all about posturing and trying to look like some kind of honorable bloke which we all know he isnt. He’s fvcked up and will only move when things get toxic and he can claim he “had no other choice”.
lopetegui is here until xmas at least even if we lose the so called “winnable” games.
Sullivan is a footballing loser. Financial success is his thing. We are fvcked while he remains. That conference cup win was in spite not because of him

Re: Lopetegui
Nah, I still think he'll be here until the end of season limping on. He'll get a result here and there that will save him.
Re: Lopetegui
These “Names” that are being banded about. Are all out of a job for a good reason. While Sullivan remains as puppet master. FUCK ALL is changing. And while the media and YT crowd are creaming themselves at this name and that being put out there. It’s means our Glorious Leader can sit back. Laugh. And take the money that is being thrown at him.
It’s shit. It trickle’s down. And it infects everything it comes into contact with. The only thing anyone should be banging on about. Is how do we clean this up. Because fucking everything else is just noise.!

Re: Lopetegui
I saw he won the Copa Italia in 2024 but simce my research was looking at Wiki it could be nonsense. Mind you Allegri’s old and on the way down so ticks Sullivan’s key criteria
Conceicao being tipped now. Is his success just domestic league or euro comps too?

Another ageing manager on his way down.
same.
Allegri really struggled towards the end at Juve.

Re: Lopetegui
If Loppy is binned I would go for Allegri. We dont currently have the team let alone squad for playing the type of football Loppy is attempting ( possession, play out from the back ) . For now something more pragmatic until we can fix the shortfalls in recruitment ( midfield mostly but also a quick striker ). Allegri should hopefully see us stop conceding 2 or more goals a game ( on average) .
only my opinion from extensive research conducted whilst blowing off on my sofa. Hopefully Steidten and Sullivan heed my advice

Manuel wrote: ↑02 Dec 2024, 13:29 Makes me laugh when the posters that say he (Sullivan) isn't a fan are convinced they are right, and the ones that think he might be (a fan) are naïve idiots, just because it suits the narrative, it's more of an edgy view, and they can't be proved wrong (or right).
I don't suppose it really matters if he's a 'fan' or not, but he went to school in Hornchurch so he would have had West Ham around him at an early age, so worse case he'll have at least an affiliation etc with
They both had shares in the club way back in (early 90s) ...before they took over Brum.
I couldn't give a monkeys if he's a fan or not..it's irrelevant to me.
Uncle Terrence is a genuine WHU fan , but it made no difference in how competent he was in running the club.
Terrence was small time and out of his depth ...like the Cairns oddballs before him.
So in that sense, Gold and Sullivan were the perfect fit .
World class team for a world class stadium ?...that's where the hatred for these three is on another level .
They mugged us off with the blatant lies and exaggerations about the stadium..and have been lining their pockets and laughing at us ever since.
They fuckin know they wouldn't have got away with it back in the day...they'd have been strung up.

Re: Lopetegui
Classic undermining tactics by Sullivan which do more harm than good.
It's not that I have a problem with the Club doing due diligence on a replacement should Lopetegui fail to turn it around. It's that publicly spouting off through 1 of his mouth piece's which I do. Adding even more pressure to the situation isn't going to help, eventually it becomes untenable to work in such conditions.
But then Sullivan has always lacked class, so it comes as no surprise at all he's doing this 1 game after the next..

Re: Lopetegui
I predict we'll get at least 10 points out of the next 6 matches now that pretty much everyone is back from injury and suspension, including the manager, apart from Todibo and Fullcrock for Leicester by the looks of it.

Re: Lopetegui
After Newcastle, I was pleased but not convinced. I said the Arsenal match will tell us if we have turned a corner. And, as others have pointed out in the poll, it was a false dawn. After a composed performance at Newcastle, we needed a big performance against Arsenal. And as feared, we looked dazed and confused and easily beatable, bar a majestic free kick from Emerson.
We could be sitting here in 2 games time in a relegation battle. Away to Leicester (5 points behind) and then Wolves (6 points behind). They both know they can inflict serious damage to us and will see our fixture as a genuine chance of 3 points.
Are we capable of going to Leicester and getting win? Of course. Will we go there and play well enough and get a win? I don't know. Lope hasn't yet instilled anything onto this team. The odd flashes of brilliance we do see are from good players. Our general play is really not very good. When will we see a run of consistently good performances? I doubt we will.
And, all we get from Lope is the usual diatribe of "We work hard to improve" in such bad English you have to listen a few times before you hear what was said.
What happens if Leicester turn us over? Is that the end for Lope? Hard to see how we stays going into Wolves at home.

Re: Lopetegui
"On the day the takeover was confirmed, an emotional Sullivan said: "It's going to take time to sink in. We've been wanting to sit here for 20 years and together we owned 27 per cent of the club 22 years ago and it's taken us 22 years to get to where want to be. Both me and David are supporters, I went to university here and I lived in Hornchurch. David lived 50 yards from the ground for 20 years of his life and played for West Ham's youth team. We just want to be here where we've always wanted to be. There is no other club we would want to be at so for us we have come home and that's what it's all about."
