Leicester City vs West Ham (League) | 3.12.24 | Predictions & Lineup
Leicester away. First game for Van Nistelhorse, so they'll be bouncing but also allowing the new manager a free hit to get to know his team, so it's one we have to capitalise on.
With Wolves to follow, nothing less than 4, and really 6 points from these next two fixtures can be considered enough.
Team for me should be:
Fabianski
Wan Bissaka
Todibo
Kilman
Emerson
Soler
Soucek
Paqueta
Bowen
Kudus
Summerville
Antonio can barely play two games in a row, let alone two games in 4 days. Ings lacks pace and strength although has proven himself a capable sub, and Kudus has pretty much the best dribbling take on stats in world football and is famed for his strength on the ball, so needs to be pushed up front.
This is now the sharp end for Lopetegui, with 5 games to be putting us in contention for the second half of the season at the right end of the table. Fail, and he'll be on his way in all likelihood.
Suspect this is a high scoring game....Vardy always a threat in behind, and we'll no doubt be trying to take it to them.
3-2 to West Ham...and on to Gary O'Wall's Wolves.
COYI.

Re: Leicester City vs West Ham (League) | 3.12.24 | Predictions & Lineup
I'm fairly hopeful for this one. Leicester have been poor lately and people are expecting them to have the new manager bounce, but I reckon we will be bouncing back from the Arsenal game.
Sounds like Todibo might be out but apart from that, the debatable selection issues are around Soucek and Antonio. Soucek was completely anonymous against Arsenal but surprisingly impressive at Newcastle so I would keep him in. With Kudus back I would drop Antonio. Ings was awful on Saturday so I would go for the front three that some have already suggested, with Summerville on the left, Kudus and Bowen alternating between centre and right.
One other positive thing - looks like we've got a new free-kick specialist. Who knew Emerson had it in him? The first one against Arsenal was worthy of Payet and the second wasn't far away.

Re: Leicester City vs West Ham (League) | 3.12.24 | Predictions & Lineup
Think Lotepegui’s continued reliance on Antonio and Soucek has been the decisive factor in our woeful midfield performances. Neither Alvarez or Paqueta have been able to cancel out the lack of basic ball control especially in our transition play. Of course recruitment has been a factor but I don’t see it as the primary issue.
Re: Leicester City vs West Ham (League) | 3.12.24 | Predictions & Lineup
No one is confident which is about right. Leicester can sit back then press our midfield or dispossess one if our front men and counter then leave our snail paced central midfield in their wake.
We really fvcked up recruitment with Rodders, Soler for Downes and JWP. Not that the latter 2 were the answer but we had to make that area stronger. We just didnt. Its no better and arguably weaker due to the way Lopetegui wants us to play. You cannot press or play thru and around teams in the Premiership without very strong, athletic players in central midfield. Its so obvious yet Steidten and Lop get Rodders and Soler in. If we had some atletes already they would not necessarily be bad acquisitions but we didnt. We were known to have a pedestrian midfield already.
These geezers get paid 100s of thousands to coach teams, oversee recruiting whats “needed” but cannot see the bleedin obvious that many amateur fans could see for many seasons.
beggars belief and I bet its not addressed next few windows either

Amazon Prime (yes, they are showing it) do this when they have midweek games, it's so you can watch one and a half games if you wish to.

Re: Leicester City vs West Ham (League) | 3.12.24 | Predictions & Lineup
Have no idea of the score but Kudus is back & owes us a performance
Crucial week with Leicester & then Wolves as the league is starting to split & we are in the gap below the congested middle group of teams on 19/20 pts behind the title contenders & the bottom group
We will know on Monday night whether we are one of the 7 with relegation on their minds or just part of the middle pack
HAS to be 6 pts

All shot down in that first half against Arsenal though, we did better in the second half but reckon that was more down to Arsenal easing off and playing the game out than us vastly improving?
fuck knows what we will serve up against Leicester, but you would have to think we can realistically win this one, certainly have the personnel to do so and comfortably.
Line up is anyone's guess, they all deserved to keep their places after Newcastle but not so sure after Arsenal.
scoreline, sorry but despite saying think we can win it, can see another confused performance and gifting them a goal or 2 so will be a draw, 1-1 or 2-2.
hope im wrong and we stuff them, but not sure that's good in the long run, only kicks the managers sacking down the road.
COYIYou talk in riddles, Sydders fella. I got a headache reading that.
