Tim Steidten
Lots of reports saying it is him that is pushing most for the board to get rid of Lopetegui.
Is he not also to blame for the mess our squad is in?
Some good signings but some questionable ones also. None are unearthed gems that he is supposed to be bringing in.
He needs to do alot better in the next couple of transfer windows imo.

Re: Tim Steidten
Dan Ashworth just got let go by Man Utd. Would be all over that if I was Sullivan/Kretinsky...give the Scarf his marching order and get Ashworth on board pronto.

Re: Tim Steidten
Steidten got Amorim interested to the point where he actually flew over for a discussion about taking over.
It was visiting Sullivan in his house that ruined everything there but Steidten clearly selected him and would have been grabbing players who might have excelled under Amorim - like Guilherme.
Its also a bit strong saying he bought a dud in Fullkrug, who had a great Euros and still averages less than 90 minutes per goal for us.

Re: Tim Steidten
Been a major disappointment IMO.
All that optimism that once Moyes left he would be free to weave his magic, get his targets etc etc and what have we been delt with, fuck all really and gaping holes in the squad and overpaid for some of the recruits as well.
Him and his Scarf have lot of ground to make up if he's to get any credit for anything!

How is the man tasked with building a philosophy and identity and a system at the club meant to do so when he and the owner and the manager are all pulling in different directions. To that end it's hardly an enviable position for the manager to be in as well.
Ultimately it's all Sullivan's mess. He kept Stiedten over Moyes so he should have fully backed and trusted him instead of cutting his nuts off. What's even the point in him being here if that's the case? Until he keeps his fucking fingers out we will always be in a mess. Re: Tim Steidten
I've said before that I'm amazed at how little flack TS has been getting.
I think that his recruitment has been well below par. He gets credit for Kudus but who here wouldn't have sacrificed him for Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Adam Wharton...etc
Mav was one of his too, and he is fucking hopeless
And although the manager obviously wanted Kilman, Rodriguez and Soler, if TS was against it he should've made a stand and fucked off rather than get his feet further under the table and give his brother a job

Re: Tim Steidten
What I would say though is you wouldn't want him as a boss, and you certainly wouldn't want to be in the trenches with him.

The fact this is even a discussion, and it's not 'Steidten....all of them, Others....none of them' shows just how flawed this model is without a totally subservient coach prepared to work with whatever he's presented.
However, we'd courted and scouted Kilman previously, so whilst Lopetegui may well have pushed for him I'd suggest Steidten happily signed off on it, and would expect similar for Soler.
The real shambles is the Sullivan column. Good players or not, he shouldn't be player picking full stop. But then, as has been alledged, it's not just about the players where Sullivan selections are concerned.

The players he has sourced and recruited at often inflated fees are not any kind of upgrade on what we already have or
those that have departed.
Killman at the moment is looking like a poor mans Craig Dawson and I can't see that changing anytime soon
40 million pound for one and a tuppence happeny for the former and we even made a profit when we sold him on.
Wasn’t it Lopetegui who wanted Kilman?
Re: Tim Steidten
I'm prepared to give Steidten the benefit of doubt.
I don't think the players are that bad and I believe a better manager could iron out some of these stupid mistakes that the players are making.
Some of it is very basic coaching?

Re: Tim Steidten
from what i've heard the players all like steidten, though he does seem to be operating as something of a rogue agent within sullivan's regime.
we have a power battle going on between sullivan (who is an idiot who thinks he can run a football club) and kretinsky (who is an astute businessman who has delegated his running of the club to a professional), in an ideal world sullivan would be cut out of the loop entirely and steidten - or a different DoF - would be the one making the actual footballing decisions like whether or not to sack a manager, with the shareholders meeting only to talk about top level excutive actions like approving a budget or changing said DoF.
i don't think what we've got now is healthy at all, but i prefer any situation that diminishes sullivan's influence.

Re: Tim Steidten
He's not covered himself with glory from the players he's brought in.
Whisper this quietly, but if the rumours are true about what person (Sullivan/Tim/Lop) brought which players to the club, then Sullivan wins hands down.

Re: Tim Steidten
In fairness not sure any manager can get Mav not to make a mistake every game or give Guido 2 yards of extra pace. The whole recruitment process back in the summer from the manager to the players has been very poor.

Re: Tim Steidten
Yes, 'guru Tim' should shoulder a lot of the blame for the disastrous summer transfer window. He should be on final notice.
As I pointed out yesterday on another thread, 'guru Tim' angling for 'loser Lop' to get the bullet is a classic case of arse covering. This type of behaviour is rife in business.
