Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Re: Lopetegui
This is what I have already worried about regarding this season. Sullivan obviously appointed this loser, fraud clown against the wishes of others on the board. He seems to have a massive ego and a massive issue with admitting he is wrong, so would rather dither and dally before pulling the trigger and canning a failing manager.
This season has a repeat of the 2010-2011 'uncle Avram' season written all over it. It is why I have always said we will be battling relegation for as long as 'loser Lop' remains at the helm. The club is in serious danger of relegation for as long as 'loser Lop' is the first team manager.
The difference this season of course is that they have spent a small fortune to worsen the league performance compared to last season. Some going that. At least in 2010-2011 the club was still skint and 'uncle Avram' gave us a couple of decent cup runs and that memorable night in the snow when Spector and Carlton Cole put Ferguson's Man United to the sword in the League Cup.

Re: Lopetegui
It feels like a rerun of Martin O’Neill turning as down at the last minute, and keeping Avram Grant because they couldn’t think of anyone else.
This morally deserving one more game is nonsense. The game is up. One win won’t change that.
No point in a 6 month recruit either. Just bring someone in and say this season (once safety is likely) is about putting in the foundations and next season is about kicking on.

Re: Lopetegui
I have hope in the way that we have played in the Newcastle and Leicester games recently. OK, we fucked up at the start of the Leicester game and that is on Lopetegui/the players, but other than that we absolutely battered them until their next smash and grab goal at home.
A combination of a string of excellent saves, bad luck hitting the post/ball no quite going over the line, goal wrongly ruled out prevented us from winning that game, off the back of the other recent away performance against Newcastle. Arsenal wasn't good enough but I always felt without the manager on the touchline it was likely to fall apart for us which it did.
People are entitled to say I'm clutching at straws and I probably am but that's the feeling I get when I watch us play when we do get going. The signs are there that it can work and share Tom's belief we can turn this shit around.

Re: Lopetegui
I can't for the life of me . See lopetegui turning it around. He's fell out with countless players. Plus the away support which is damning . And as for his defensive tactics . In 40 plus years following this club it's by far and away the worst I've seen . Despite that back 4 on Tuesday costing £110 m . I actually feel a bit sorry for him . The dwarf is hanging him out to dry keeping him on . Cowardly little shit bag . EGO over club every time .
Re: Lopetegui
How can you say thaty. There's no shape ,formation or anything about how we play. Defensive basics are not there. A slow midfield being overrrun. Also he seems to have lost a lot of the dressing room.
If the stay of execution is just to give the board time to hopefully finalise a new appointment then it would be better to sack Lopetegui now and get Noble to caretake. You don't need your UEFA badge to manage temporarily.

Tough games away at Bournemouth and home to Brighton follow before Christmas. Can see them easily losing both of those games.
Bournemouth are excellent at home this season, having already beaten Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham and drawn against Newcastle.
Maybe. Or maybe it's the start of turning our season around which we all desperately want.

Re: Lopetegui
That we won a highly pressurised game that we couldn't afford to lose and that the players are fighting for the manager/Club?

Re: Lopetegui
Yep, reading between the lines they couldn't get anyone suitable to come in, Lop will be fully aware of this, he's squaring up to players in the dressing room, so it's pretty much already untenable. Even by our standards this is one almighty fuck up.
You would also have to wonder how motivated he is now for Monday, where O'Neil will be bang up for it and smelling blood, the pikey.

Re: Lopetegui
I don't have a problem with a deal till season end, the season is all but done anyway. Clear out the decks and look at it again in the summer, one reason why I said Bilic as it would have the majority of the fans onside etc.
Re: Lopetegui
The problem with the 6 months offer is that we are just kicking the can down the road.
Why waste 6 months on an interim manager when we'll just be looking at the same, out-of-work managers that are left next summer?
It makes sense if they are prepared to put the work in, actually find the best manager for the job and are willing to pay the required compensation.
But if we are only every going to go after freebies then it seems a bit pointless.

Re: Lopetegui
If Sullivan is bending over and taking a length from Allegri, who seems to be dictating when he wants to join us, then he's a bigger idiot than I thought he was.

Re: Lopetegui
Maybe. We just don't know for sure. Just like I was dubious there was more than meets the eye regarding Lopetegui and Todibo, where some were quick to point the finger and yet it's now looking like it was in actual fact the player that was the one out of order.
Re: Lopetegui
Latest rumour ( or made up BS ) Max Allegri now said to be open to coming but not until end of season if we are still in the Premiership. Maybe the 6 month offer makes sense. Leaves Sullivan a get out if it goes wrong with Allegri lined up. If temp manager does well, Sullivan goes back on his word to Allegri which I suspect would not bother Sully?
Allegri checks all Sullivan boxes, old, was at a big team, won trophies some while ago and is old. Did I
mention he’s old and sets teams up like Mourinho amd Moyes. Perfect for Sully

Re: Lopetegui
If there ever was a 60/40, Solekol was going on about this 60/40 split that was going to fuck him off after Leicester game but never did. Like always with West Ham, it's never quite clear what is or isn't the truth.
Re: Lopetegui
I fully expect an announcement at HT if we are losing against Wolves that Loppy has half a game to save his job. Anything to avoid taking a decision for Sullivan that will show he was wrong yet again and save paying him and his staff off.
The split in the boardroom is everyone vs Sullivan and Brady. With Steidten, Kretinski and Noble wanting to sack Lop. Guarantee that is the 60:40 split.

Re: Lopetegui
I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the board meeting this week when Lopetegui "won over" the directors. Our future in the hands of an ancient, narcissist midget listening to a man no-one can understand backed up by a woman who thinks it's an episode of a TV show and an over-stretched billionaire focused on balancing his other business.

Sorry that I seem to have to labour this but a manager can be hopeless and still win games. If you don't believe me take a look at the season under Avram Grant.
Semi final of the league cup, 6th round of rhe FA cup... beat Spurs, won away at Fulham on Boxing Day in the 'ultimatum game', yet comfortably our worst manager in recent history.
Let me spell it out for you. We won those games IN SPITE OF HIMTruly pathetic. When we win it's on the players, but when we lose it's on the manager, and you call it NUANCE. You're an idiot mate, sorry.
So unlike you to resort to ad hominen responses but if you cant beat them...
Disappointed although not surprised that you're too dense to understand. I've never said that when we win its on the players. You made that shit up. A bad manager is capable of winning games. There has never been a manager bad enougb not to win a single game in a season. Not sure why that's so hard for you to understand. But then again...
