Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Re: Lopetegui
It seems to be almost accepted as true now that half time against arsenal Todibo was throwing punches at him....
But what I don't get is that Lopi had a one match ban which would mean he wasn't even allowed in the changing room at half time?

Re: Lopetegui
At least Lopetegui hasn’t resorted to Moyes level arrogance about the fans and told us we’ve “never had it so good”.
He seems like a decent person, just would like him to have a better and more consistent setup for us. Maybe, you never know.

Re: Lopetegui
The 3 teams immediately below us all have tricky fixtures this weekend, so we could still be 14th after the Wolves game, which is in line with Sullivan's obvious requirements/deliverables (PL survival):
- Everton (away @ Liverpool)
- Leicester City (away Brighton)
- Crystal Palace (home to Man City).
- Everton (away @ Arsenal)
- Leicester City (away at Newcastle)
- Crystal Palace (away at Brighton)
Re: Lopetegui
Loppy pleading to stay apparently. That means Brady or a text will be used to sack him. Sullivan’s style to avoid a face to face and use his famed underhanded methods.
would actually be both funny and good if Lop stumbled on a way to get results as its pretty painful watching him “die a death thru a thousand cuts” of being given multiple numbers of games to improve things.
its simply destined not to happen unless he reverts to Moyesesque low block, defence first football and abandons his suicidal high line and very advanced wing backs.
He should be gone next week because I think we will lose to Wolves.
Worst result will be a draw so thats probably what will happen. The curse of Sullivan

Of course I knew he managed abroad. But I wasn't aware of just how well he did, which I am pretty sure allot of people didn't know either.

How can Sullivan be aware of all this and still allow the situation to continue?!

In December 2010, Potter signed a three-year contract as coach of Östersund, who were then playing in the fourth tier of Swedish football, starting on 24 January 2011.[17] Potter was offered the job after Graeme Jones, his friend and assistant to Roberto Martínez at Swansea City, recommended him to chairman Daniel Kindberg after Östersund's pre-season friendly with Swansea.[18]
In 2013, after two successive promotions, Potter extended his contract with the club for another three years.[19] On 27 October 2015, Östersund secured promotion to the Swedish top flight, Allsvenskan, for the first time in their history following a second-place finish in the 2015 Superettan.[20] Östersund finished their debut season in eighth place, winning plaudits for their "slick passing game" and competing on a limited budget.[21][22]
On 13 April 2017, Potter's Östersund team won the Svenska Cupen, beating Norrköping 4–1 in the final.[23] This granted the team a place in the second qualifying round of the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League where they defeated Galatasaray 3–1 on aggregate.[24] In the third round they defeated Fola Esch 3–1 on aggregate[25] and in the play-offs they knocked out PAOK (3–3 on aggregate with more away goals), thus securing a historic entry into the Europa League group stage.[26][21] They finished second in their group, level on points with Athletic Bilbao.[27] Despite beating Arsenal 2–1 at the Emirates Stadium, they were eliminated from the competition after losing 4–2 on aggregate.[28] Östersund finished their domestic league season in fifth place.[24]

Re: Lopetegui
At the end of the day. Kretinsky could end this nonsense straight away. It wouldn't surprise me once the royal mail deal goes through. That he strikes a deal for the stadium and the land around it as well . The new government won't deal with Sullivan and Brady.. they will him .

Really beginning to think that Steidten is the issue here, not Lop.

I predict we'll beat Wolves and he'll keep his job.
Then we'll get battered by Southampton on Boxing Day and Sullivan will admit defeat and sack him.
That's what I reckon.
That's my two cents.

Come On You Irons" wrote: ↑06 Dec 2024, 13:11This is what I have already worried about regarding this season. Sullivan obviously appointed this loser, fraud clown against the wishes of others on the board. He seems to have a massive ego and a massive issue with admitting he is wrong, so would rather dither and dally before pulling the trigger and canning a failing manager.
This season has a repeat of the 2010-2011 'uncle Avram' season written all over it. It is why I have always said we will be battling relegation for as long as 'loser Lop' remains at the helm. The club is in serious danger of relegation for as long as 'loser Lop' is the first team manager.
The difference this season of course is that they have spent a small fortune to worsen the league performance compared to last season. Some going that. At least in 2010-2011 the club was still skint and 'uncle Avram' gave us a couple of decent cup runs and that memorable night in the snow when Spector and Carlton Cole put Ferguson's Man United to the sword in the League Cup.
Your Moyes tinted spectacles have slipped.... this time last season we had won 2 more games and conceded 3 less goals than this season and our performances last season were as dire if not worse than this we were so lucky to win some of those games... and we spent £140m+ on transfers.

Re: Lopetegui
Massive attack asked if we go on a winning run. Would that be acceptable. The answer is yes. Will that happen I think we all know the answer is no.
it like saying if we beat Liverpool would we be happy. At the moment I think people might be happy if we keep it below 5.
