Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
The priority is Antonio and his personal recovery
Assuming he's done now, this time there will be no wriggling out of signing someone in the January window.
Silly question maybe: Would the club have insurance on their players against non footballing injuries like this?

Blimey, that looks grim, hope he's going to be OK. Can't imagine that kind of impact when you have a big lump of a bloke in a small car like that.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Quite simply a big game player. That's the biggest compliment I could give him. When the chips are down he usually turns up ready to be counted alongside his other team mates in the trenches. Imagine looking across the dressing room to see him there as a reassuring presence. Done it far too many times in the past for us. From the Fiorentina Cup win, to countless Spurs and other big games, he's been there for big moments and produced.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
That is a horror looking crash. It's an absolute miracle he has survived that and is conscious and communicating. It's a big relief he hasn't lost his life nor been turned into a mental vegetable.
Antonio has been a solid servant to the club over the last nine and half years and given us supporters some great performances and moments over that time.
Will be amazing if he walks again, let alone plays.
Signing a striker must now be the number one priority for the January transfer window.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
You could never call him stable when he plays football.
Get well soon Michail.

Whether it be saying silly stuff on a podcast, or going over to Jamaica to smoke reefers, er, I mean, play football, when he should be here at West Ham.
But, he’s also contributed a lot of really good stuff that’s made up for it.
It’s also, not his fault, that for the past 3 years, we haven’t brought in a younger, pacy striker, to take over from him.
Also, when all is said and done, he is one of us.
let’s just hope the poor (silly) fucker, can walk again.

Could not agree more with all of that.
Glad to hear that he concious and talking but that looked a horrendous crash if the photo on here really is what's left of his car.
Good luck to him and hope he recovers as soon as can.

Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital. At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family. The Club will make no further comment this evening, but will issue a further update in due course.
Yes thank fuck

That is one way taking pressure off the board. Could imagine the dwarf asking his lawyers if we can be compensated

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
1 of my all time favourite modern WHU Footballers. Always loved his dedication to the West Ham cause and as strong as an ox. Need all that strength to pull through mentally now, come on Iron Mic.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Most important is he is stable so sounds like its not life threatening. May not play again but thats not important especially at his age. Just hope injuries are not life changing now.
Maybe not the most gifted player but gotta respect a bloke who came thru the leagues and was very effective at what he does.
Hope he revovers fully and asap.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Fuck sake Mic. He doesn't sound the best driver the last time he was in the news crashing his lambo dressed as a fucking snowman at Christmas. Hopefully not too much worse off than that time as well.
