Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Just got up and was dreading seeing a 'RIP' Looks like he might have been 'lucky'. I'm not one for cliches, but football really isn't important for him right now, doesn't he have young kids? Take it easy Micky X.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Latest information - it happened on Coppice Row, Theydon Bois. He was trapped for 55 mins before being cut free. It was a single car accident. Another photo of the crash site with car -

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
I'm no expert, but judging by the look of that car wreck and the hearsay about the injuries it looks pretty bad for him. Even a younger man might not have a realistic chance to bounce back from this and play football at PL level and given he is in the twilight of his playing career, this has to be game over.
Main thing is that he's alive and should recover sufficiently to have a decent life outside (playing) football.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Spot on Eusebiovic, He may not have the best ball control in the world, but by God he makes up for it by being as strong as an ox and never giving less than 100%. I love the way he plays with a smile on his face and he doesn't take himself too seriously like some of today's prima donnas, if it seems he doesn't always know where he's going to go with the ball neither do the opposition, and you can see from their body language that other teams defenders hate taking him on, often resorting to pulling him down which never seems to get punished!
Get well soon Mickey, we're all rooting for you mate

Dunno where you lot are getting these snippets from. Medical details will be private until there's a press release won't they? Anyway whatever, I hope some of the rumours are just that and it isn't too bad. Got to admit by the state of his motor looks fucking horrific but it's surprising what people can get away with.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
Terrible news
Hopefully he will make a full recovery. Sadly, he will probably have to retire.
What a player he's been for us - Incredible that after all this time he has managed to remain relevant. More expensive players have come and gone but none have managed to hold a candle to the bloke when it comes to effort.
Get well soon!

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
If he's got a compound fracture, that's some nasty shit. Poor bloke...especially given he was stuck in the car for 45 mins while they freed him.
Hopefully he comes out with his mind intact as he's got a career in media ahead for sure. Rather listen to him than most of the pundits on the airwaves currently.
Sadly don't think we'll see him in Claret and Blue again.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
The guy has huge battle ahead. Forget playing football he will probably be lucky to walk. Aside from that he will need to overcome the mental side.
Yes he has been lucky and made good money and he was probably in the twilight of his career but my goodness he has given us all some great moments over tbe years. Hope all hammers can support and encourage him in his recovery. We will miss his personality for sure. I hope he can make it back to the stadium sometime.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
This was just up the road from my daughter and she's just told me she was in the traffic trying to get home as the helicopter landed. Looks awful but later reports seem like he's had a lucky escape. Get well soon, Michail.
Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
I've just heard about this. Jesus that reck looks horrific. Get well soon Mik, glad to hear it's not quite as bad as it first looked.
Almost up there with Trevor Morley's and Calum Davenport's non footballing injuries for weirdness, but not quite.

Puts Todibos pathetic tantrum in to perspective. Some Footballers aren't as lucky to just sulk when they don't get it their way, some don't play at all again full stop..

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
From looking at that and from his age, I would be amazed as well if he were able to make it back at all. More hoping that he can have a good quality of life still. That’s all that’s important now.
Best wishes to him and thanks for some absolutely amazing memories over the years. The roof will blow off the stadium if and when he’s able to walk on to the pitch in any capacity again.

Re: Michail Antonio Car crash
According to Cass Pennant, it's a double fracture & compound fracture. Saying he may not play again depending on the seriousness of the next 48hrs.

Looking at the photo of the car I hoped it was a left hand drive model as the right side looks awful. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sounds awful.
Thinking about it, they've done extremely well getting an Air Ambulance down there to get him and take him to hospital in this Storm. Surprised helicopter was able to fly at all in this weather.
