Well Liverpool did manage 5 in the Carabao! But you’re right, leaking goals is a massive problem, everyone can see it, but game after game we don’t seem to address it? See thread about our upcoming record breaking effort…….

Soler was decent, very neat and tidy and worked hard.  Alvarez looked well off the pace again at times and caught in possession twice that a better team could exploit.  On the plus side, he did make some crucial tackles and put in the miles.

Douglas Luiz is allegedly available in Jan as he struggles to get in the Juve starting 11.  He was excellent for Villa last season. Worth a loan if we can ship someone out?

Soler was neat and tidy yea..but against such a poor side I expect more.

Yes mate.
You pulled Loppy  up before the game for his midfield trio..truth is any combination we have is nowhere good  enough.
I was hoping Soler would show us what's he's all about tonight  and boss it...he failed miserably..just like all our squad under this bloke.

The world class stadium had a lot of empty seats  and  by the end had A LOT streaming out before the end ..and we were WINNING.

Loppy will say we are missing a striker I asked for (Duran?) and you gave me Fullkrap etc .. so that’s why I have problems etc

To be fair to Fulkrap he's scoring at a rate of about 10 per game at the moment which isn't too bad.

We win and still they moan.

We dominated Leicester last week, played well but lost, also had  perfectly good goal ruled out when only 1-0 down.

Not sure what some expect.
There are very few managers out there who could come in and get us winning every game whilst playing like 1970 Brazil.
The league is very tight and competitive, few more wins over the next few weeks and we could be top ten, but bar the bottom 3 & top 3 or 4 there's very little to choose from the rest.

threesixty wrote: 09 Dec 2024, 22:06 It’s such a weird league. There’s nothing in that performance that makes me think we’d get anything from Brighton or Bournemouth.
yet we’re only 2 points behind the mighty Man U and Ange’s “Cruyff like” magical Spurs!

so there the stats that keep Loppy at the club. Sullivan looks at that and thinks what’s the point in changing it now?  As you were… shame.

Loppy will say we are missing a striker I asked for (Duran?) and you gave me Fullkrap etc .. so that’s why I have problems etc

shit writes itself I suppose…

That's the mentality of certain sections of our fan base that drives me nuts.
A point or so behind Salford and  N17 equates to that's okay then?
NO ..ITS NOT.

One thing I did notice is AWB filling in as CB when we were attacking sometimes. I suppose the idea is he has the pace to deal with counters that Killman doesn’t.
so I see Loppy has his thinking cap on. He’s trying to solve problems.

but I think maybe it’s solving a problem that shouldn’t be there because of the high line you’re insisting on? I dunno, he gets millions to sort this shit out. He should know the answers not me!

I must admit, I love seeing the angry ant O’Neil jumping up and down when he doesn’t get a decision. He’s the same as Arteta, always got something to whinge about, playing the Wolves are so hard done by card.

Neither of those are penalties. Not even close. The Emerson one Guedes trips over the ball, and the Mavropanos one is caught by the higher contact threshold rule. Not every contact is a foul. That one was so minimal.

A bit like their disallowed goal at Molineux last season WAS offside.

Pleased with the win but made hard work of it. If we had been playing one of the big clubs we would have conceded two penalties and probably three or four goals if I'm honest, just fortunate that Wolves can't score many goals. Strange subs though taking pace off when you are defending a lead but he got away with it on this occasion. As for Gary O'Neil as an option for manager? Not for me, too often he blames officials decisions for results.

stay of execution?
Not for me mate.
we had nothing about us as a team, nothing.
relied on Jarrod to win it for us.
He is looking more and more pissed off as each week passes.

Yeah, Sullivan always looking for any reason to do nothing.

2 more defeats likely against Brighton and Bournemouth and rpund we go again with “next game to save job”.  Torture for Loppy and fans alike but very much the “Sullivan way”.  ☹️

Nerve-wracking game. Nine points clear now, and unbelievably within one point of Man Utd and two of Spurs and Newcastle.
Some sound gutted we won. On to the next....

Glad of the win but not what you’d call convincing. The more I see of Lopetegui’s work the less I like it. In no way should this win be a stay of execution.

That was tragic. Championship games have better quality than both teams offered.

Thankfully Wolves were so bad they didn’t score a couple or more like every other team.

I’m already sick to death of this season and it isn’t even the half way point.
