Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)

Post maverick180 »

I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season

Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit

We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge

But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

8 points (including goal difference) clear of the relegation zone is now classed as a relegation battle...🤣

Also, where's this relegation battle you promised us would happen?

It's looking like a boring midtable fight out for the rest of the season.
You're deluded if you don't think we are in a relegation battle. Only 7 points off the drop zone, closer to 18th positionally and points wise than the top 5.
On that basis, you must also think we're in a battle to finish in the European places, seeing as we're closer (points wise) to 6th than we are to 18th?

We've lost 2 of the last 6, at what point is that the form of someone about to be sacked?
When the reality is that you have won 2 and lost 3 of the last 7. When you have failed to win back to back games all season and when you sit closer to the relegation zone than the top 6 after spending £150 million over the summer.

Part of the problem for our erratic first half of the season might be because the manager has been balancing his stressful job with his ill dad. That burden has past and now he has to grieve.

I know from what I've seen that I'm happy to give him time. If some players don't want to play for him, fuck off. Once he's grieved for his old Dad, let's see the cut of his jib.

It's been a horrific time over the past week at the Club, what with Antonio's near death experience, young Academy player Oscar Fairs passing away due to cancer and now the sudden news Lopetegui's old man has also passed.

Unfortunately time waits for no man and the show has to go on but fuck me, it's been a mental week or so. Never rains but it pours..

TBF to him . He's never once gone out his way to slag off the supporters. Unlike certain other managers .  He's took it on the chin . RIP Jose . Hopefully we get the win on Saturday.

He probably celebrated Bournemouth's late equaliser like he just won the World Cup.

Julen Lopetugi’s father has sadly passed away aged 94

Poor old boy. Long been on the cards the past few years since before he took over the Wolves job, now finally put out of his misery. Thoughts with Lopetegui.

We are still in the balance, 5 points off relegation and 6 points off Europe. We ain't going down, but unfortunately the most likely is we have an uninspiring midtable season.

Think we deserved the draw yesterday albiet very lucky with the Pen.

We are showing glimpses of improvement.

As for bringing on the likes of Scarles and Casey in a tight game like that. Moyes would never have done that in a million years.

Thankfully there is a football God and he was in no mood to let this useless clown shoe wearing fraudulent shitcunt fluke another win.

29  shots conceeded against fucking Bournemouth . Should have gone after Chelsea we've done nothing but waste time and games since then.

Hopefully Wolves and Southampton conspire to appoint a pair of clown shoe wearing fraudulent shitcunts in the Flopetegui mould so we still have some half decent options when the dwarf finally has his moment of clarity.

I agree with that. We should have kept Moyes the first time when he kept us up not got MP in and gone for a European football position we needed stability like Moyes did at Everton and then move on. To Alfs I cannot get my hear around this new format

You’re a bit too desperate mate.
The only one's who are desperate are those who want him gone after just l5 League games. Unfortunately the useless cսnt won the last game which put a spanner in your works. And hopefully he sticks another one in tonight that puts a stop to all this constant chat of him losing his job in his 1st season in charge of us, but not holding my breath..

Sir Alf" wrote: 16 Dec 2024, 16:23 As Mike says its got to be Sullivan keeping Floppy in his job.  Was hired via Salthouse his fav agent and Sullivan has this virtue signalling stance of telling all and sundry how he likes to be loyal to managers. What that perhaps means is that he is the bloke who hired them so very reluctant to give them the push too early or he will look like the know nothing fvckwit most of us know he is on all matters relating to the professional game known as Association Football.

Salthouse will be in his lugholes advising that his cluent will come good eventually and the risks of others in the frame. Just like it was Salthouse or Silkman that allegedly advised our “Pint sized Stalin” that Duran was over priced and lacked experience. Ditto with Amourim, too risky, ditto with Alvarez the ex Citeh forward.

Salthouse, Silkman and Mackay are confidents and the trusted advisors he has used for decades. They still have a large say in recruitment which is farcical in this day and age.  “Yesterday’s solutions tomorrow” is Sullivan’s club motto !!!
..."Salthouse, Silkman and Mackay "...

I'm wondering if Sullivan is balls-deep in personal - as opposed to business - debt with those three, simply based on the amount of leverage they seem to have over his decision making.

He dare go against their "advice" and they'll call their debts in and second-hand bling will flood the market in emergency liquidation.

Think this situation might be causing a split between Brady and Sullivan
