Was never going to be reelected once he failed to get the Iran hostages released
The Republicans then promised the Iranians a better deal if they continued to hold them until after the 1980 election
They were then released on the day of Reagan's inauguration
Carter was an average President in difficult times but his humanitarian work after that was outstanding

He was above all an honest man picked to do a job right after another who will go down in history as a liar and a crook. Do you have any independent thought processes at all?

When I clicked on the thread for some strange reason I automatically thought it was about the ex-Millwall winger who wasn't very good when he moved on to Liverpool and the Arse.

probably the best individual as US president since Eisenhower. His administration is frowned on because he didn't play nice with the machine. Definitely did his best to make the world a better place.
