TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs NEWCASTLE UNITED (1230)
Newcastle come into this on top form – four straight wins and one defeat in the last six. Contrast that with the hosts’ recent record of one win and four losses in their last six - and a hilariously pissed off manager. And all that makes for an intriguing contest. Away win.

BOURNEMOUTH vs EVERTON (1500)
The Cherries are toying with a Champions League finish, while the Toffees are within spitting distance of a Championship finish. Home win.

ASTON VILLA vs LEICESTER CITY (1500)
Here’s a gilt-edged chance for Villa to move back to where they came from just a couple of months ago. It’s also a chance for Leicester to move back to where they came from last season. Both are likely to take their chances. Home win.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs CHELSEA (1500)
Chelsea may have lost their last two, but are way stronger their hosts. Palace are flirting with the drop and will continue their coquetry this afternoon. Away win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs WEST HAM UNITED (1500)
After a series of disastrous, uncharacteristic results, City find themselves blessed with a home fixture against West Ham. Sod’s Law, innit? No decent strikers and Jarrod Bowen out injured. City hinting at a recovery, of sorts. Need you hear more? No. Home win. Image
Can Kudus be the difference?

SOUTHAMPTON vs BRENTFORD (1500)
Well, at least you don’t support Southampton. Small mercies. The Bees are unlikely to extend such mercy this afternoon. Away win.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs ARSENAL (1730)
The game of the day. Away win.

SUNDAY

FULHAM vs IPSWICH TOWN (1400)
Fulham are unbeaten in their last six, but there are just two wins in that lot. Coincidentally, that’s the same number of wins that Ipswich have in their last six. Trouble is that the other four are all defeats. Best make that five from seven. Home win.

LIVERPOOL vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1600)
One win and five losses in their last six for the visitors. Oh dear. Well, at least they’re below us. The hosts come into this on the back of a 5-0 away win. Wankers. Home win.

MONDAY

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs NOTTINGHAM FOREST (2000)
Wolves are in trouble, no doubt about that. Forest, meanwhile, are on a roll, but not of the bread variety. Away win.

TOT vs NEW
BOU vs EVE
AST vs LEI
CRY vs CHE
MCY vs WHU
SOU vs BRE
BHA vs ARS

FUL vs IPS
LIV vs MNU

WOL vs NFO

From what I've seen so far this weekend us and Southampton are the two worst teams in the division

That didn't last long! Arnold's over rated, always has been, can get away with it for a team always on the front foot but gets found out defensively. If I were Liverpool I'd take whatever million they are offering. Pity Salah doesn't play like this when he plays against us.

Arnold is a joke of an actual Defender. Take away his Hollywood passes and he's a poor Full Back. Always has been. Man Utd have well deserved their lead.

Probably as well as Man Utd have played this season
Liverpool have a knack of snapping a ball into a free man in the middle of the pitch  … something we are utterly incapable of doing at any point

Trent AA is an utterly dismal right back
Hasn’t got any defensive nous whatsoever

Although he should have gone low with that effort 1 v 1 with Allison, I do like Hojlunds all round play. He'll eventually become a very good Striker.

Pretty boring first 40min in the “BIGGEST GAME IN THE WORLD”, but Manchester United have been the better side.

Maybe Amorim knows his stuff after all…….

Phillips wasn’t at fault for anything. He actually had a few decent touches when he came on. So yet another lazy post by Sven.

Ipswich were inches away from making it 3-1 before Fulham went up the other end and got a penalty. A proper kick in the nuts, which I feel I have seen countless times with West Ham.

Ipswich make too many mistakes
Main one was wasting one of their loan recruit spots on Kalvin Phillips
Brought on to close the game out at 2-1

All laughable signings

This season has relegation written all over it. It's a repeat of the 2010-2011 disaster under that other fraud joke Grant. The difference this time is that relegation would be far more embarrassing given the money spent over the summer.
Yup nowhere near the bottom 3, haven’t been in the bottom 3 but somehow this has relegation written all over it 🙄

The only surprising thing is how we have got to 23 points. Newcastle is the only time we have really played well.

Yep its looking like COYI was onto something after all. Many of us thought Lop was not the guy needed but never imagined it would get this bad.  There were a few mitigating circumstances with the dreadful state of the squad Moyes left but Lopetegui chose Kilman, Rodruiguez and Soler and the midfield is as slow and weak as before and the defence not much better.

The dark clouds are gathering. we’ve all seen it before at West Ham. Sullivan is just a disaster for this club and hence little hope.  Buckle up I got the feeling things are about to get worse because Sullivan wont be doing anything until its too late.

I said all season we will be in a relegation battle under 'loser Lop'. I genuinely think we are the second worst team in the league. Only Southampton are worse than us and they should have beaten us on Boxing Day if they could finish their chances.

onsideman wrote: 05 Jan 2025, 14:42 You're right threesixty, but this wasn't a case anyone being reckless or out of control. Not every clash of heads is a foul... in fact most result in a stop in play with a drop ball restart. It just so happens that they both went up for a header and both got contact on the ball

It’s odd how subjective it is though. I remember Nani in some CL final years back getting red carded for a high foot where he could never have known the guy was there. We got done against Chelsea once, red card for a high foot as well, again our defender could never have known the guy was there etc

so if Saliba goes for a header when he knows the guy is there but injures the player doing it is it his responsibility to make sure it doesn’t end badly? Is there really such a thing as a 50/50 ball that you can attempt to play at any strength or speed as long as you the play the ball?

I don’t know anymore… seems like how any play ends determines whether it’s a foul or not nowadays.
