I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season

Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit

We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge

Whilst I can see the argument that Flop needs to be backed with "his" players to play his style, I'd counter that he's done so poorly with what he's currently got that he hasn't earnt the spending outlay necessary for reinforcements.

This is a coach that cannot get a tune out of a team containing Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus, Summerville, Emerson, AWB and Fullkrug - And a whole host of other top international players.

The priority has to be legs in midfield. A box to boxer.  Rice wasn’t just a sitter. He put out fires but mostly because he was fit enough and quick enough to do so. Ironically, Alvarez would have been ideal with Rice, not to replace him. We’re overrun on the counter because we don’t have the legs to run back. 

I don’t know who the answer is, but everyone else seems to find one. Baleba at Brighton for example. How difficult can it be for a team scouts to locate an athletic midfielder who can also pass a football?

We need a new keeper. We've needed a new LB for about 5 years. We have the worst CB's in the PL. The midfield is full of carthorses, need a minimum two new faces in there. We still need a CF. In short, it's fucked. When are the ST renewals?

Would even Lewandoski score goals with our setup? We seem to be upset with the pace of our strikers and we’ve got rid of 2 world class ones before, mainly because they had no pace. We will be doing the exact same thing again. 

I saw a few touches from fullkrug plus a very good finish from him. 
I do wonder if concentrating on the striker situation is a red herring. We really need to fix that midfield asap. I really don’t think we need this CDM thing. 

we need a dynamic box to box midfielder and a another creative mid. 

also, just realised the main advisor to Sullivan is the one that got him Lopetegui. So Lopetegui is going nowhere.

Unai Emery is the only bloke right now that loves Lope. Emery will play a weakened team in the cup game and still win comfortably. Massively helps Villa's season. Good ol' Lope. Least he is doing someone a favour.

Tbf, Fullkrug did get in the right position to be able to put us 1-0 up if it wasn’t for Kudus wanting to score a goal purely for the benefit of any watching eyes only to completely fuck it up with his right foot, the greedy prick.

I don't think either are cutting it yet but clearly Fullkrug is for you based on very little other than 2 meaningless consolation goals. I want to see more from both, yes even Lopetegui. His job isn't safe for a reason and he can't complain too much which is why he doesn't.

I’d say one has shown glimpses of quality in a team which is playing shit, and despite being injured for the majority of games.

The other has had 20 games and is as bad in game 20 as he was in game 1.

The only individual not cutting it, is the god awful manager who is ultimately responsible for those awful performances.

442 minutes of game time and only 2 consolation goals scored once the opposition have long won the game and switched off doesn't cut it. 

My fear now is West Ham thinking he's doing enough with his occasional consolation moment and we take our eye off the ball in the Transfer market. To watch the window close and we're back to square one with his medical history would be classic West Ham. 

So the manager needs time to adapt (just like the fella at Bournemouth), but a striker who’s been injured but has scored a couple of goals “doesn’t cut it”??

Of course what he's done so far doesn't cut it. Why, are you satisfied with what he's produced so far? And he was just about to get hooked for Ings being readied to come on until Soucek found him with a lovely ball. I did see a couple of nice touches as well and he did make a bit more effort but it's all consolation Football. He needs to be banging them in, getting in to better positions and causing a real nuisance long before the games well and truly gone late on. And yes he cannot run at all, forever treading treacle throughout from minute 1 he's on the pitch blowing out his arse. If people are happy with that, then their expectations are far lower than mine for a £96k a week £27M major Striker signing.
