Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)

Post maverick180 »

I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season

Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit

We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge

But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

Like goose said, regardless of this ends up, we have once again demonstrated how much of a classless set up we've become. The joy of being a West Ham fan gets sucked out of you more and more as the weeks/months go by.

West Ham have finally made a decision.

They have decided to have a meeting about whether to have a vote to have a meeting to have a vote to have a meeting to decide whether to sack Lopetegui.

They have also made sure to leak this to the press to make us look like even bigger wankers.

His record at Swansea was decent enough to be fair and at Brighton they finished lower mid table to mid table in his last season there. So gradual inprovement. They beat all the top clubs in the last couple of seasons.

Guess at Brighton you have to ask how much of them being able to “punch above their weight” (limited resources) was down to Tony Bloom’s operating model and recruitment process developed at “Starlizard” and now part of Jamestown Analytics a Bloom company. They use a patented mathematical algorithm to gain an edge in football covering player recruitment and opposition analysis.  Brighton, Como ( Italy ) and Hearts use it apparently via Jamestown Analytics?

If he turns up at West Ham he will use the Sullivan process which is a proven failure (53 strikers ) firing a scattergun using agent cronies.

My expectations are not high. Hopefully he can improve us.

Don’t really want Potter even if it is just until the end of the season. Better than Steve Cooper though. All that money at the club and we shop in TK Maxx for managers.

I don't live far from Brighton and know plenty of Brighton fans and they were fairly split on Potter.  On the one hand they viewed him as an upgrade on the cautious Hughton but the criticism was as soon as they approached the penalty area they ran out of ideas, which was a criticism aimed at him at Chelsea.  They definitely preferred De Zerbi.  That said I'd take him over Lop, who knows might be a perfect fit as Lop just looks out of his depth and seems to have alienated too many players.  If they are going to sack him though just sack him and put someone in temporary charge rather than keep him hanging on while they chat to others. Mind you Sulliav showing a bit of respect is pushing it.

Disgusting way to treat Lopetegui too, having also been constantly "on the verge" of being sacked after every other game.

Then alleged to sack him straight off the back of losing to City Away of all games... 🤣

Btw, anyone got any stats on Potter’s managerial career and especially abroad before he rocked up at Brighton?
A magnificent 31% win percentage at Brighton which for some reason was good enough to get him the rent boys gig. It was only 40% odd at Swansea too. Go figure

Sullivan planning a big top tent to sit on top of the LS.  ”Sullivan’s. circus”.

Still would not be surprised if nothing happens.  But if Potter turns up I hope he has done his homework already ( better than Lope who’s dog ate it) and has let Sullivan know he needs an athletic central midfielder or he’s not taking the job.

Sullivan will think he's had his hands burnt again by someone foreign and will go for someone British. It's a theme he's had throughout his time here.

British manager followed by a foreign manager followed by as British manager.

Every British manager he's had lasts the length of their contract, every foreign manager gets the sack.

Sullivan is so predictable.

Same reason we wouldn't go balls deep on Amorim, classic Sullivan fucking things up since 2010.

As for Potter, like he proved with a Billion Pound Squad after Tuchel left them in 6th place in the League...
