Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)

Post maverick180 »

I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season

Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit

We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge

But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

The delay is prob because the entire coaching team of jlops friends and family also needs to be replaced. And the redknapps have to arrange a van to collect all the Sandbanks gear.

I’m pretty sure Potter had little say in transfers at Brighton or Chelsea so he is used to dealing with what he is given.

I think you can put his failure down to a number of things, some within his control and some outside of his control.  He inherited a team massively out of form, leaking goals for fun and on rapid decline (the last 6 months under Moyes were statistically worse than JLo's first 6 months).

But whilst there were obvious signs of improvement (such as allot less hoof and hope, allot more possession) the results didn't improve and the same simple, inexcusable errors just kept occurring and were not addressed.

Anyway, just saying I'm gutted it didn't work out because he was at least trying to play the right way, even if he didn't quite know how to turn that into results.

But make no mistake, no matter how good the new manager is, this is not an easy job.
I kind of agree, he has had a raw deal!

Our team are no more than a 10th to 15th premiership team and we are currently in the right place.

Sullivan has hopefully told Potter who he’s buying for him in the Jan window? Maybe he will give him the latest catalogs from Salthouse, Silkman and Mackay to browse thru so at least Sullivan can say Potter picked the players should it go pear shaped.

But lets hope Potter can see a way to address, via tactics and system, our lack of pace in central midfield and get the best from the squad. And lets hope any additions are a success.

We shall soon see it seems.

He’s probably walking away with a £5m severance for 6 months of abject work. I’m reserve my sympathy for more deserving cases.

Leicester sacked Ranieri less than 6 months after winning the league. That’s poor form, not this. Even Spurs sacking Pochettino a few months after reaching the Champions League final. It’s dog eat dog in this world. Lope will have benefitted from it as much as he’s been a “victim” to it.

However people want to dress it up, he has been a disaster even with marginally improving our attacking fluidity. You can’t trade that off for such defensive fragility. I was all for giving him time, and if there were signs of greenshoots like there was with Iraola at Bournemouth, I might think it worth persevering, but there simply is not.

And loads crying about his treatment. Please fuck off. This is a bloke who, a week before taking Spain to a World Cup finals, was having an affair with Real Madrid and negotiating his contract to join them after the finals. And was happy for this to be announced five minutes before his first World Cup press conference. Spain's FA were disgusted and sacked him before the first game of that tournament. Not surprisingly he didn't last long at Madrid after they realised they he employed a dud. And, this is a bloke that walked away from Wolves and left them in the lurch as he wasn't able to spend the money he had been promised.

Fuck me. Have we not sacked this dud yet. I wake up and come on here and he is still in charge.

Massive Attack is still defiantly defending this loser and is now saying he got stitched up. Laughable. I reckon it was Sullivan who got stitched up with the obvious bullshit that Lope fed him at the their interview. Never in my life would I have thought we would've seen a manager worse than Avram Grant.... Lope said "Hold my beer".

And loads crying about his treatment. Please fuck off. And, this is a bloke that walked away from Wolves and left them in the lurch as he wasn't able to spend the money he had been promised.

Now, some may argue, that he was merely looking out for himself, but when it comes to moral's, please don't preach about this bloke. He has always looked after number 1. End of.

And when people moan about speaking to other coaches whilst the existing manager is still in post, do you not think this is what all clubs do? How the fuck do you think clubs sack a manager and hire a manager almost immediately after? It goes on all the time. Top level football is a cut-throat business. There is talking and negotiations going on in the background all the time. All players, coaches, managers and any staff are always on the look out for better. Like most other businesses.

It does seem that, in this case, it does seem to have all been done in plain sight. Who is to blame for that I don't know. I mean, it wasn't the club that put the photo's of Tim and Potter on the internet was it.

Yes, Sullivan is a classless little cսnt. But, I am afraid, this is an emergency situation. We currently have arguably the worst ever West Ham manager - This requires emergency action. And if that means Lope's feelings getting hurt then that's unfortunate. Bigger things are at stake. He will get over it.

They need to pull their fingers out before Friday, otherwise Lop might leave a parting shot and play Scarles up front, Areola at left back and Paq in goal.

Any prospective manager to come here knows that every time the owner opens his mouth lies spill out, they’ll get nothing that they can trust from Sullivan, just meddling in your work. Sullivan thinks he’s being supportive by not sacking the current manager but it’s just poor judgement or he can’t be bothered to call Brady to do the deed yet, like a cat toying with a mouse. Any manager coming here would need his head examined. Sullivan would sell the job to a candidate as a dream job while knowing it’s a fucking nightmare, ringing any bells anywhere?
For me he’s got two main faults, everything he says and everything he does. On top of being an eyesore he’s a horrible lying thieving porn peddler with no class, dragging our club down further and further. It’s why we end up with shit managers, the good ones are clever enough to see the light and realise that the problem hasn’t gone and ain’t looking like it’s going to die just yet.

Good luck to any manager coming.

This whole shit-show was easily avoidable if managed correctly, but maybe it is being managed "correctly", but in an effort to deflect attention from an even bigger turd at the club that is about to reveal itself.

Let's hope we get better news later or by tomorrow morning, all going to be a bit late though. Villa at the weekend and can only see one thing and that's us crashing out.

If it is Potter and he can get a tune out of our lot then would like to think an outside chance of a European spot, so many teams are inconsistent this season even us being shit so far, we are not that far off, a decent run and it could be possible and put us right in the mix.....But maybe that just me being overly optimistic😁
Morning Sydders,

Agree, a push for a European spot is unlikely but not that fanciful given the strange nature of the league this year. Since this is all going on in early Jan one would assume that funds available, or not, for this month is going to be part of the negotiations. Surely something has to give today.

Woke up and still this fraud is here? Going to assume Potter is announced today, probably for two and a half years, and today's presser will be put back, but who fucking knows.

I'm making the point that had he got either Striker he wanted instead of what he ended up with, then things would be very different. We can all see what both Duran and Ormorodion have done since the start of the season scoring freely so his judgement was spot on and their goals would make a real difference to our League position and relieve the pressure on the rest of the Team with the amount of chances we clearly create these days. Fullkrug was not his man but Steitdens panic buy. People are welcome to easily dismiss it but it's what I strongly believe.

So he didn't want either Duran or Ormorodion and wanted Fullkrug instead?
