​​​​​​In the past he's favoured a 3-4-3 formation...hard to see how we can do that currently with only 3 senior CBs, one of whom is injured. He's also played wingers (Solly March as an example) in the wing back roles.

Typically when a 3-4-3 gets announced on a match day the manager is immediately described as being too negative, too cautious etc. I guess it depends on the composition of the 4.

He's given young players chances...hopefully that continues at West Ham.

I think it’s a good appointment considering we only go for out of contract managers so that we don’t have to pay compensation. He wasn’t my first choice and he was shit at Chelsea, but we would have taken him when he was at Brighton, and I would have had him for the England job over the Kraut skeleton.

It may not work out. If I was a needy twat I could state from the off that this is a terrible decision. Eventually, most managers get sacked or let go so eventually I would be proved right.

Russ 15.17, you are making a false equivalence if you consider conversations between Sullivan and Jalopy the same as what is going on now between Potter and Sullivan.

Right now we have an incumbent manager, just a few months into a contract who is pending dismissal, whereas when Sullivan was speaking to Jalopy, and several others it turns out, Moyes was in a running down contract that was not being renewed. 


 

So what? Moyes was still in charge and working with the team knowing that the club were talking to other coaches. The point is its all about looking after number one. Lope has proved he doesn't care about other clubs when he looked after himself so why are people so bothered.

Lopetegui did fuck all wrong and Rubiales decided to throw his toys out of his pram and to fuck him off on the eve of the World Cup anyway. He should have negotiated a more water tight contract that didn't allow for that to happen.

I didn't say he did anything wrong. But he did speak to Real Madrid and negotiate a deal with them behind Spain FA's back. He looked after number one. Nothing wrong with that. But I do find it hypocritical that people feel sympathy with him when he himself is not part of the moral brigade.

Being honest he sounds a bit wet to me.  Can see him getting chewed up by our club a bit...expect the players will like him, and he sounds a bit like a guy you'd want in for a long time if he can get established.  But worried there's too much 'nice guy' in there to deal with our Club which is frnakly a hornets nest of arseholes most of the time.
