​​​​​​In the past he's favoured a 3-4-3 formation...hard to see how we can do that currently with only 3 senior CBs, one of whom is injured. He's also played wingers (Solly March as an example) in the wing back roles.

Typically when a 3-4-3 gets announced on a match day the manager is immediately described as being too negative, too cautious etc. I guess it depends on the composition of the 4.

He's given young players chances...hopefully that continues at West Ham.

Of course league position is a statistic. Probably the most important one, although you shouldn't make too much of it when talking about someone in charge for only some of the season. Tuchel may have left them in 6th place, but they had a piss easy start to the season in those first 6 league games he was in charge of and yet somehow lost to Southampton and Leeds (who finished bottom 2). As I said, there's a reason Tuchel was sacked, and they definitely weren't riding on a high like you're making out.

Well, that's the thing with stats - you can look at them in multiple ways. You've chosen to look at it very simplistically, completely ignoring what happened in the months before (there's a reason Tuchel was sacked mid-season you know) and what happened in the months after.

The reality is that they had 22 months of poor/mediocre results in the league and Potter was there for 7 months in the middle of that.

That's not stats, that's League standings.

I couldn't give a toss about his tenure at Chelsea, to be honest, it's a farce club when it comes to its endless manager merry-go-round.

Haven't seen the video, but if you look at what happened to the club before and after, the results don't look as bad as if you view it in isolation.

Tuchel had won 7 of his last 16 league games in charge, playing an awful brand of football. Potter came in and didn't do any better, although did win 5 of 6 Champions League games, which included 4 games vs Milan and Dortmund.

Things then got massively worse after he was sacked and Lampard came in (one win in their last 10 games). The following season under Pochettini, despite having a full pre-season in charge and not having any European football to contend with, it took them until mid Feb to reach the heady heights of 9th place and start regularly winning games.

Basically he had the misfortune to join a badly run club that didn't do their managers any favours. Unlike...oh.

Also even now I could not see what loppy was trying to do. So that was my biggest problem.

We really do have to give him time, we’ve made our bed here so no more knee jerk calls for his head when we aren’t beating all comers straight away. There is no quick fix personnel wise but he can tweak how we play and get more of a tune out of this lot. Hopefully he’s sat with Steidten and reached an understanding on how players will be signed. Timing is good and we can get one or two  useful additions still in Jan but oh do we drag things out when it comes to managerial it’s and outs. 

How does that work when the last manager wasn't afforded the same luxury? I agree by the way, any manager needs plenty of time to sort all our shit out and no not just half a season either, be it Potter or anyone else.

Think it should be if we see things going in the right direction... unlike with Loppy. 
If we see things are improving then you give the manager more time, even if the results are not.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes him to have a visible impact on the team.

From what I remember of his Brighton team, they were hard to play against because they counter press as soon as they lose the ball. I wanna see a west ham team that give everything and show some positive approach no matter who they play against.

Interesting to see what that does for Steidten, who is on the ropes anyway.

Apparently Ashworth doesn't do player identification but build Club supporting infrastructure...can't see that happening while Sullivan is alive and in post.
