Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
I'm sure Nutstain will be looking with added interest in how his beloved gets on at the Toffees.... Im sure we all hope he crashes and burns!!!! But no doubt he'll do very well as he typifies Everton over the last 30 years! He'll do just enough every 3 or 4 games....

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
Was reading that the PSR breach relates to costs left out of their 2022/23 numbers so obviously can’t repair that now
By the way what happened to the breaches by Chelsea that the new owners flagged up as being part of their due diligence?
Amounts were paid through other companies so not included in Chelsea’s books
Sounded like an open and shut case but seems to be on the shelf gathering dust

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
Actually it’ll be fascinating to see what happens with their transfers and who comes in and who gets what game time. Whether it’s a Moyes thing or just a Moyes at West Ham thing.
Anyone expecting a bid from Everton for Soucek in the next fortnight?

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
Don't think we can say too much when our club is run like a circus and his replacement was a massif failure.
Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
I see they are linked with some 21 year old Ghanaian winger from Lyon - Nuamah. Imagine the new board will be thrilled when he doesn’t kick a ball this season as he needs to get up to speed.

Never understood how they got a lesser penalty for a second offence
Hopefully a third breach in a recent period means a serious penalty. 25 points would be about right plus a fine of £100m
They have an outstanding charge from LY hanging over them. They sold that fella to Villa but I don’t remember any other significant sales which would transform their position.
only good news for them is that Leicester are almost guaranteed to get hit as well.

Wish Everton every bit of failure with or without Moyes.
Couldn't care less who's managing them other that I hope he signs one or two of his old favourites from us

Never mind "Careless Whisper", a careless wisher is obviously what they got for Christmas.

Coufal, Cresswell and Soucek in exchange for Pickford or Branthwaite
Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
I'll be shocked if they can afford to sign anyone.. They won't get relegated I don't think... They're not in the bottom three are they yet no doubt his bum flickers and he himself will proclaim him their saviour like they did with us

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
This will be interesting. I don’t think a stubborn man can get through a relegation battle. I think when he took over West Ham he seemed more willing to listen and experiment a bit. Maybe that was Irvine’s influence. But over time he kept believing his own hype. I think that was the reason his mate Warburton left.
I wouldn’t bet on him being successful. I think the media read him wrong.

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
All he needs to do is keep pace with Wolves/Ipswich/Leicester/All of the above/Any of the above and he'll have done what is required of him.
Not really a big ask unless one (or more) of them get a rush of blood in the 2nd half of term.

I thought he said he wasn't interested in taking over at a club in a relegation battle.

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
He was our manager but he isn’t now so I hope he fails and Everton get relegated.
Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
This is no real surprise and as our go to, twice, when the owners feared relegation I can understand Everton’s reasoning behind this appointment.
I think the toffee’s fans are in for more of the same for this season and the ugly duckling football will be continued under Moyes. Everton kept seven clean sheets in the first half of the season and the weakness of their attack means that Moyes has to More or less continue that defensive form to guarantee survival.
All the best to him.

Re: David Moyes appointed Everton manager
Wish him all the best. The games were hard to watch at the end but for 3 years of mostly winning games all over Europe and a trophy I'll forever be grateful.
