FA Cup 3rd Round football

FA CUP 3rd ROUND

One of the best FA Cup days with plenty of scope for a juicy upset. More scope than probability to be fair, but there you go. It’s the day that pits the likes of Dunn the butcher, Lowe the bank manager, Laurie the undertaker and Lavender the village idiot against high-flyers like Salah, Haaland and Saka in the annual, improbable hope that one of the minnows may take down a sleeping giant. And it’s always the minnows, isn’t it – why never stickleback or goldfish? In the 21st century, surely that ranks as scandalous discrimination. Just add a snowy pitch and an orange ball to complete the picture. But it’s fun to think about what might happen and if by chance a minnow takes an early bite out of a giant’s arse and still holds a lead by the time they start to be felled by the cruel inevitability of cramp, the excitement among viewers and listeners around the country will be guided to a vaguely vinegary anticipation of imminent climax only ever seen on this day: the tension, the drama, the unexpected turns. It's a day unlike any other in the English football calendar, where underdogs can rise and giants fall, where magic can truly happen and dreams, however unlikely, can come true. Or just crash and burn.

Look out for:
Forest vs Luton. How things change. If just one or two results last season had taken a different turn, it might have been Luton pushing for the Premier League title and Forest battling to stay out of League 1.
Liverpool vs Accrington. Could be a record scoreline.
Man C vs Salford. A local derby. Could their recent upturn make City complacent?
Orient vs Derby. The Rams have plenty to think about in terms of league position. Can the Os take advantage?
Tamworth vs Spurs. Oh, wouldn’t it be fun if… Yes, it would. It really, really would.
Ipswich vs Bristol Rovers. Not the kind of game anyone in the Tractor Boys’ position would want just now.
Southampton vs Swansea. As above. Pain, pain and more pain in the offing. Life can be so unfair.
Millwall vs Dagenham & Redbridge.

If he's so fucking good, why did it take him over half a season to start a game?

Mubama probably won't make it at the top level.  I'd still have rather he come on over old man Ings last night though.

He’s a young lad and everyone was expecting him to be like a prime Antonio.

Would rather him over Ings or Fullcrock.

Not good enough for us though of course.

He’s never making it at this level. Salford about his level. If you swapped the Salford centre forward with him, he would score too!
Spot on.

Mad Ferret hates Potts but loves Mubama

Mubama scores from a foot
Maybe Pep will let us have Haaland on loan

If I was Man City I’d want to beat G Neville’s lot 10-0

Thomas Frank’s record in the cups is awful.

They’re in no threat of relegation, yet he puts out a reserve team and gets dumped out to fucking Plymouth.

The game between Arsenal & Man U’s reserve teams is even worse
YAWN
Not sure if Tamworth v Tottenham is on but the locals should be allowed to plough their pitch & put a 50 foot deep sink hole in the penalty area
Now THAT would be good tv

It's time to give the village special needs kids unfettered access to the betting choices, isn't it? I mean what could be more fun that a silly bugger bet or two coming in in an acca?

Well, once the village idiots stopped squabbling, I was left with two 5-fold accas":
  1. Wycombe Wanderers v Portsmouth
  2. Preston North End v Charlton Athletic
  3. Sunderland v Stoke City
  4. Coventry City v Sheffield Wednesday
  5. Millwall v Dagenham & Redbridge
And:
  1. Norwich City v Brighton & Hove Albion
  2. Ipswich Town v Bristol Rovers
  3. Southampton v Swansea City
  4. Leicester City v Queens Park Rangers
  5. Exeter City v Oxford United
Went for the 2nd selection, so already dodged a bullet with the sailor boys. Potential winnings of just over 10 bags, apparently...
