I'll be surprised if that team can keep a clean sheet.

can we score enough to get something from it?

Trying to understand this team in a Potter context...
Fabianski

Wan Bissaka. Mavropanos. Kilman

Soler. Rodriguez. Alvarez. Emerson

Kudus. Soucek

Paqueta

Could be something like that....or could he be using Soucek or Alvarez at Centre Back?

Fabianski

Alvarez Mavropanos Kilman
Wan Bissaka Rodriguez Soucek Emerson
Soler Paqueta
Kudus
Going to be interesting to see how they line up on the field.

Actually, maybe he’s playing Paq as a 9?
Which is a pretty big deal and nothing JLO would do.

I actually think that’s a better setup as Paq is probably better playing back to goal and holding up the ball than kudus is.
kudus can play in his favoured position on the right.

4-3-3 then

I’m quicker than most of those playing and I’m fucking old.

I’d take a scrappy 1-0 but I fear a 3 or 4 goal defeat.

fuck me, three cloggers in midfield, zero width and a false nine. why the fuck he can't use the young brazilian wide and orford instead of the argie is beyond me

the only positive is coufal isn't on the pitch

Bare bones. We might stay in it for first half but think we will see a similar trend to villa game, with squad depth working against us. I’d take a point now.

Yup just shows how bad the injury situation is. However given what he was able to cobble together from one training session there’s some hope for this one.

Says a lot that he’s playing kudus up front and not Ings.
Ings is not long for this world.. or at least West Ham.

don’t think he has much choice with the rest of the lineup.
A fit Emerson is obviously a better choice than Scarles etc

anyways, seeing someone in training or under another manager and then picking him for yourself (Rodriguez) is quite different. Hopefully he’s had the time to tell everyone what he wants done. Let’s see if they follow orders.

Look at the bench.  Not sure there are many options.   Fucking slow midfield though.  I’d take a draw now with that lineup.

Unpopular opinion but Ings deserves a chance.

Always played for us in a system that is pretty much designed for Antonio up front and never given a decent run in the team but has proven during his career that he is a decent striker.  Another cursed West Ham striker.

That said.  If we have a manager that can give him a chance and play him to his strengths then we might yet see a resurgence in the second have of this season.

Do we have any attacking youth players that he might be tempted to play other than Guillerme or are they all out on loan?

He surprised us with Scarles on monday.  Maybe there will be another surprise tonight?

Could be the ideal game to blood a couple of youngsters - the injury situation will give them time to make a serious bid for selection over the rest of the season.

Will we win?

Probably, if we play as a team (Kudos, I'm looking at you), but a draw should be the minimum, which I think is very probable.

Kudus

I thought Soler at RWB seemed an odd choice, given his lack of pace but apparently he played as a right winger a fair bit in his younger days and even played at right back for PSG a handful of times last season. Maybe he is the best option. Can't see him playing Guilherme there so only other choice for me would be Coufal as I'd prefer AWB in the back 3. Coufal is a liability there.

Injuries to several key players in a poor quality and depth squad. Anything achieved whether its the result, goals scored, not conceding chances, pressing better, playing thru a press and moreover looking again like a “team” who’s players understand their jobs would be most welcome.  A win would be the cherry on the cake but I see that being very hard. Fulham havent lost in 8 and we have many out and just starting to recover from the Lopetegui era
