Massive result against the odds. I thought Fulham were good on the night and will be kicking themselves today. They deserved at least a point and controlled much of the game.

But you have to be in it to win it. And, our boys worked hard to press and cause problems and take advantage. Two of our goals were gifts but you have to be pressing to be there and causing problems.

Huge positive is the difference in the team. Already looking more assured at the back. And midfield looks more organised and hardworking. Alvarez looks a different player and Paqueta looks better.

Was a bit of a Moyes style win. A threadbare squad and a group of players that worked hard and sat in and waited for their opportunities. To be honest, I am staggered at how much impact you can see Potter having in such a short space of time. Not sure if that's an indication of how good he is or how poor Lope was. Probably a bit of both.

Nice little win at home to Palace on Saturday and we are looking up the table for once this season. Feels like some weight has lifted and the fog has cleared.

Great result yesterday, but you won’t get many opponents as generous as Fulham were.

however, if you don’t press you don’t get those gifts.
i can see more of a plan from 180min with Potter than 20 games with Lopetegui.

i just hope they don’t let a decent result paper over the cracks in the squad.

I know it's still VERY early days, but it does seem like a massive cloud has been lifted from the club.

Too many times im afraid 😁 Todays game was the early kick off, i just didn't realize and assumed it was 7am (Sydney time) but was 6-30am!

The other mistake ive made on a number of occasions is looking at the game "date" but if its an Australian site or ESPN or Optus it will show KO date a day later than it is in the UK as its reflecting the date down under, the traditional 3pm kick offs im ok with but the early or late KO tend to get me on occasion!!! Usually around the clocks changing both here and the UK.

Should have learned by now, but cant teach an old dog new tricks🤣
Yea fair play mate, I can see what you are saying with the dates and the websites maybe showing their time, UK time, or local time.

I wonder how often people have booked a flight on the wrong date if say the flight time is 00.10 folk may naturally think its the date (before midnight) rather than the next day. I ain't done it but recently booked a flight at that sort of time and had to be a bit careful.
A friend of mine did this, we were in Pattaya with her a couple of years ago, on a Tuesday and she told me her flight wS at 12.10 am Thursday, so she had 2 nights left, I told her she had to leave tomorrow, would have missed her flight.

As for not knowing the football times you were right the first time as thick as mince.. Just look on os ffs.. 😂
Not surprised, I reckon plenty have done it, I think some sites warn about it if the the flight time is early AM.

Yea, I was probably being kind to Sydney, he's done it a number of times  too. A bit divy.

Really good win and a huge 3 points for us

Thought the change Potter has managed to install in what 3 sessions? was hugely impressive. Alvarez I thought was superb, and he is getting far more of a tune out of Paqueta than the last two managers.

We were higher up the pitch, we had more energy and aggression in the press. The midfield were far closer together both on and off the ball offering us more of a midfield unit to impose ourself on the game.

We were far more organised, far more compressed to give them less space when they had the ball.

At the back still bit shite, Dinos and Fab need replacing and a new CDM to replace Rodriguez/Soucek will only strengthen us further.

Nice to see Scarles come on and do well against Traore also. It was actually a performance to get behind and support them. They looked like a team, and a team thats hungry to win and to perform. So refreshing.

If he can make that much of a difference in under a week, I think there is real optimism for Potter's time at West Ham. Looking forward to Saturday now!

Very encouraging to score three goals with no recognised striker in the line up, hints at better times ahead. Also, there seems to be a massive change of mood around the club, let's hope it's not a temporary change.

Watched 30 mins highlights when I got up. The win is huge, as Potter said himself wins keeps the wolves from the door, it makes it easier and less stressful to sort out what he has to sort out, which is a lot, without the additional pressure of league position, having a poor start etc, so now he can get on with it all with everyone's tails up and smiling faces, it helps a lot. Beat Palace and we're on a march.

How can you despair at honesty. It was awful stuff. Sure there was a bit of energy but very little quality. Clearly the manager isnt helped with the side he was able to put out and my expectation wasnt high going into this. So yes good 3 points but awful forgettable match.

I actually was saying the same during the match. What the ferk are these keepers doing. To be me we won it 1 nil. The rest was fab you save don't think about the deflection.  Their keeper should clear it.  Our one goal great work...

El Scorchio" wrote: 14 Jan 2025, 23:04 That was a win for being positive and working hard off the ball. Forcing them into mistakes and capitalising from it. No way we score any of those goals under the last two managers. Pressing that high up the pitch was verboten. This is a great result as it will feed confidence and belief in what GP is trying to instil. Considering the amount of attackers injured we did great to score three goals. Sure we rode our luck but fuck it. I don’t care. The team for the most part stick to the plan and looked like they knew what we were doing, forced the oppo into mistakes and capitalised. That’s a win for being positive and forcing things, and a win when not playing well.

Under Moyes or Lop we pathetically lose that game without a whimper.

Get some players back and keep this up and I might finally cheer the fuck up

**** note sorry takeshi, i somehow posted over your post**** mad dog
THIS. last couple of seasons i've felt like turning off if we go a goal down, now at least I feel like the players are enjoying playing for us, enjoy watching us once again!

both our "gifted" goals sublime were finishes following a good bit of pressure, soler's in particular was nowhere near a gimme and i've seen them cocked up more often than not, whereas both their goals were just crosses followed by errors in judgement from our goalkeeper.

anyway, our second goal was a beautiful move, so even if you want to just go by proper goals that didn't come from a fuckup of some description (and ultimately, all goals do) we won 1-0.

Deserved the win, Just! Did ride our luck at times and i expect Potter can see he has some work to do, but given the injuries and fight the players put up i think most fans are going to be pleased with this showing, the 2 we conceded were very preventable and Fab also stuffed up a bit and should have done better, Paqueta  took his gift of a goal well to get the win, so overall im pleased with this display as i expect most will be.

To those who were bit knicker wetting and doom and gloom in the first 15 mins, have fucking word with yourselves🙄

massive, I've always had him down as a box to box player. before we signed him, that's what I got from watching several games for his previous team. I've moaned often about his passing, but you can't beat his attitude and how can you not love a player who says "I'm proud of every moment I play for West Ham" 👏👏👏

Yeah and contrary to popular belief he's mainly just a threat in the air to score for us, he has scored less than a third of his goals with his head 11 times out of those 37.
