"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

I did too, based on nothing more than blind faith though!

Quinn & Coach Whitt faced and beat them at the back end of last season in Dallas, limited them to just nineteen points and their best defender that day (Cam Sutton) moved on in the summer to Pittsburgh. Goff also threw two picks in that game, and Ceedee Lamb had over two hundred yards receiving. I was confident our WRs would expose them, and Jayden would handle the pressure. Just gutted I didn't bet on it

Back in the world of shit, failing teams, the Jets have already interviewed 12 head coaching candidates, with five more expected to be contacted this week.

That’s on top of the 15 general manager candidates.

32 people shortlisted. Which just confirms - as though anybody needed it confirming - that the owners and their suffocating acolytes have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. They genuinely don’t know what a good GM or HC even looks like on paper, let alone when he’s sitting in front of them.

32 people is not your shortlist. And it’s not being “thorough”, which is what some claim. It’s a scattergun approach to your most important personnel appointments.

It means you have no blueprint for what you want, you have no concept of which type of GM/HC you want and where to start in terms of selection.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they get very confused and interview Lopetegui.

I’m sure some of the candidates are decent or even very good. We might stumble upon a winning formula. But what are the chances? This is a franchise which, like West Ham, seems incapable of helping itself.

I’m not generally one to whinge about the overall refereeing in the NFL, which tends to be pretty good for a sport that, understandably (for player safety), has a lot of rules. In general, poor play calls (and of course they happen) even themselves out.

But, fuck me, the Chiefs got some serious help from the refs last night.

Excellent performance from Washington, that.

Naive from Detroit, as I feared. They’ve got the tools to win the lot but, as TM said, you have to grind out parts of the game and they were still calling trick plays when they should have knuckled down. That’s on their coaching staff, all of whom are highly coveted right now.

Daniels is top drawer. Very little fazes him. Superb attitude.

Oops indeed. You actually think the American equivalent of the Sunday Sport is a trustworthy news site and not a joke site. How completely embarrassing for you. Did you agree with them when they splashed the front page that England got thrashed 1-1 at football by the USA too?
It’s reported widely so I’m not of your point. Last thing I’ll say on it as this isn’t the thread for it.
Probably best if people don't post in the thread, soley to demand highly racist terms be reinstated into the sport then, and just stick to the game. If someone is going to be a racist cսnt on here, though, damn right I'm going to call them out for it.

Anyways, like TM said this is not the thread for politics. This is one of the few on here that is pure and for the enthusiasts.

I always like reading this thread as I have a passing interest in the game, but don’t understand it enough t contribute.

I watched the first half of the KC game but gave up when Mahomes started flopping around trying to buy flags. I really hope they don’t win it. My brother lives in the states and is a REDSKINS fan so I hope they win.

That TD to Kelce was ludicrous.
Having said that the Chiefs are getting plenty of penalty favours.

Got the beers in and enjoying an.all nighters. Want Lions to win this year, primarily because they are one of only 2 original teams to never reach the Superbowl. Get more into the thing during play offs. Love a good match in the cold and snow too.
