That’s a very good point. Can’t help thinking we should have won it. I was fearing the worst with the selection and the start. Potter is showing signs of promise. Paq and AWB superb. Hopefully a few more available next week.

Good result, that, especially after going one down within ten minutes. Also, an excellent second half to watch.

Recent West Ham sides would have shipped several today after that start. But Potter has definitely given this squad a lift - and MUCH better organisation.

That was a patchwork side, with a midfielder upfront. But plenty of energy, effort and - second half - tempo.

Villa definitely tired after their Champions League week, but that’s still a good point against a good side. Could easily have been three.

Moyes and Lope lose that game.

Fantastic second half there - unlucky to not get a win. Fingers crossed it was tiredness for Paqueta, thought he was excellent.

Well we got better as the game went on and second half we were the better team and a tad unlucky in the end to not get the win.

Potter has got them energised and effort and running was top drawer. Centre mid is the area to strengthen and a striker but fair play. A good point.

It's a function of lacking options up front and trying not to lose the ball.

Is what it is. Emerson doesn't have the pace on the break so it slows us down too.

Worth remembering 81% predicted defeat today, and as of now we're still in it. But the effort is there, and this is more like the West Ham I want to support. Fight, trying to play with the ball, working hard despite the circumstances.

Considering what our situation was, that was excellent. Everyone looked fitter and knew what they were expected to do. And we really grew into it after a very shaky start and should have won it. 

Very pleasing. With a full squad we can go places under this man. 

To get 1-1 away to them with that defence, that’s a good result. 

As an aside the punditry and commentary was so swayed in favour of Villa. Piss poor.
