"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Going to take a couple of years, I suspect, TM, as we need a long-term QB and there are some big holes to fill on an unbalanced roster. But Glenn is a breath of fresh air - primarily because he knows New York and our fans and is not cowed by it or them. He seems to feed off it all.

Gase was massively out of his depth and looked intimidated.
Saleh (decent man) struggled with anything offense-related and was a bit cowed by NY's aggressive media.

No idea how Glenn will turn out as a HC, of course. The jury's out on that. But being daunted by New York and the constant noise around it all is not in his nature. And I like that as a starting point. He's got the attitude you probably need in a city where everybody is shouting at you! Can see him telling some squawking journalists and commentators where to go fuck themselves - but in a polite way. The players will need that sort of coach on their side to help turn things around.

Oh, Hackett's on his way out. You're right - he has to go as part of this overhaul.

It's probably a case of who replaces him. Looks like it might be Nick Caley, the current passing game co-ordinator at the Rams. Don't know a huge amount about him, other than he's highly rated by McVay. It would be a step up for him to become an OC, but anything would be an improvement on Hackett: that guy was truly awful and only got the gig because of Rodgers. Coached like he'd never seen a lineman before.

That’s our head coach. He’ll have his failures, I’m certain. But that’s the guy I want leading that team. He wants to be there, not just taking any old HC role. It matters to him. Some others were just passing through.
So you think he's better than Adam Gase?  😉
Yep, sneaky feeling!

In all seriousness, Glenn’s press conference was pretty impressive. Oozes passion for the sport and team, charisma, determination and work ethic.

The real “talking” is done on the training ground and on match days. But this guy has a pair of bollocks, and he will not fail through want of trying.

Compare his introduction to that of Adam Gase (rabbit in headlights), Rob Saleh (bit overawed by Gotham) and the likes of Mangini (battling to convince himself), and you sense that Glenn is a different beast.

It’ll probably take years, and he’s taking over a failing organisation, so there’s a LOT to fix. But I like him already.

Aaron Glenn’s first press conference as head coach.

”We’re the freakin’ New York Jets, and we’re built for this shit!”

THERE’S my head coach, right there.

Gets it. Being a Jet is a state of mind - it’s not just about the American football. And that’s why they’re basically the West Ham of the NFL.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who has a dislike for Andy Reid, even if he seems to be managing the officials favourite team.

The Giants had an O line made of cardboard while Saquon was there. They were totally inept and no rb could do anything there except get seriously injured.

now he’s behind a brick wall on wheels that clears defenders out of his way at will and he can really express himself and show the full range of his phenomenal talent.  Would have been a waste of money and talent  the Giants keeping him, as it is, he’s making history with the Birds’ monsters up front.

going to be tough in the SB. Team is a banged up and up against the Chiefs and the NFL. If anyone can do it though, they can.

Yeah, he was still half assing it. Compare his rookie year to what came after. Elite talent poor attitude. Went hiding when things weren't going well.
We call that “Jets Syndrome”, Scorch!

The ability to take an excellent talent and turn them into directionless zombies during games. Maybe it’s something in the water in New Jersey?!

Nobody in that stadium - including the refs - knew whether Allen’s QB sneak on 4th down had paid off.

But what is genuinely numbing is that, in those circumstances, the Chiefs always seem to get the call.

That combined the decision to go all in on Daniel Jones was always completely baffling.
Absolute killer decision. Imagine dealing this guy away. And SBBB reckons the Green side of NY are worse run? I’m really not sure!
They’ve won Superbowls since we last got to the playoffs! Don’t feel sorry for those fuckers! 😉
Well we do have that but fuck it's been bleak ever since. It's astonishing how difficult it is to be that bad for that long really. Both sides letting the city down. Horrible looking at consistently well run and high performing teams as well.
