The Krauts certainly demonstrated what it looks like to support a team. They lose 5-0 and they are all there at the end applauding their team. We win 5-0 and ex West Ham supporters on this site are moaning and can't wait for the next defeat.

"Mex Martillo 9:07 Yup- completely agree. Prior to kick off yesterday Rangers were the top story with their own live feed dedicated to them. We weren’t even on there and you’d never know we were even playing. Then we appear on a generic ‘English teams’ one just before kick off, sharing updates about other sides too. After the match our report was way down the page compared to all the other ones. Was just the same 2 years ago when Rangers semi final was top story all day and we were lost in the mix completely while the BBC ran a love letter story about Eintracht Frankfurt rather than anything about us. That shit winds me up a lot more than it should do."

"I reckon we will get Leverkusen or the Scoucers. We played Alonso’s lot on preseason iirc ? and were nowhere near them ? But that was before Steidtens signings were onboard. Moyes would never admit that Steidtens signings have basically saved the season esp. Alvarez and Kudus but even the Greek is avmainstay now. Spine of the team. Would have been Maguire, Phillips, Brownhill, JWP if Moyes was making all the calls on transfers. IAnyway it would be typical of our cup drawing luck if we get the aforementioned teams. That said whoever we get will be a class above Freiberg"

"Antonio was back to his best, he's the only player we have who can play that role. Then when you have the likes of Bowen and Kudus as well it's a defenders worst nightmare."

Think if Moyes set his time up to play like this most weeks pretty much everyone would be happy. I dont mean winning games 5-0 but actually trying to win the game from the start. He has the players to play this way its only his stubbornness that stops him from doing so and will most likely be the end for him.

"Think your right scott, we done what you should against inferior opposition by stamping out authority early on. We played well but we’re never gonna be fantastic with the ball cos we aren’t coached to play that way. Like you say a few long balls but what made it work so well last night is we had the old Antonio back, like a few seasons ago when he was on it we played well. Turning clips up the line into good balls. That’s why I don’t think Bowen is the answer there long term."

"That was a great win last night, and great to see Moyes play a more attacking line up. It was a decent atmosphere, a memorable result and an all-round great evening at the OS. BUT... and I know this is going to sound negative, I don't think we looked miles ahead of where we have been before? We still gave the ball away needlessless and regularly. It's not everything but we managed to thump them with less posession (48%) than them too. We still reverted to the hoof ball which is probably 50/50 as to whether we will retain possession, either in the first or second phase. Overall, I think things went for us in a way that they probably haven't before. If thing continue to go our way then brilliant, we will pick up some more great wins. But my gut feeling is that last night wasn't an all-out attack that the scoreline suggests and it's not an indication that Moyes is prepared to play a more positive way. I hope I'm wrong but I can't this being a change of tide."

“If we keep this up it’ll be tough that Moyes goes” That the bluddy problem innit - he doesn’t keep it up. We’ve squandered countless league games and threw our games in the cups. If we were consistent there wouldn’t be any issue. We’d be in the top 4 now probably installed as a Top 6 team playing football like we saw last night with regularity.

"Let's not lose our heads here. We had a magnificent night and saw a complete different team compared to last week. Removing one of three defensive midfielders paid of, something fans have been crying about for months. Freiburg were atrocious, and have lost 20-0 to Liverpool. Let's see how we fare against a proper opposition before we conclude our European tour"

"Any progress from this point on will be a credit in Moyes bank account. Freiberg were the best side we’ve met so far but tye remaining auarter finalist are arguably to the level or above Enitract Frankfurt and Fiorentina? Freiberg struggled with our direct approach, long diagonals and fast counters via Kudus. Antonio’s bustling upfront and our direct style of long diagonals and string set pieces etc is something a lot of the continental teams are not used to. Its when we meet a side that is strong and physical defensively we will see a tougher encounter assuming whoever we play will dominate possession as pretty much everyone we play does. But you can only beat whats in front of you and we did a good job of that last night"

"Great night, breaking records. If we keep this up, it'll be tough that Moyes goes. I fancy AC Milan for the glamour. I watched the end of Atlanta Sporting, Scammacca was on the bench. Disappointed we won't meet Sporting, my brother in law is a season ticket holder and said he'd get me in no trouble. Draw at 13:00 CET! I think thats 12:00 in the UK HAMMERS"
