Midweek football

Post Mad Ferret »

What do we reckon for the League Cup semis then?

I have a feeling Arsenal will turn over Newcastle and get to the final. Seems like the Geordies are already planning their Trafalgar Square piss up...can see Arsenal shocking them.

As for Spurs, I think that lead from the 1st leg is absolutely vital for them. Can see them battling for a draw at Anfield, and progressing to the final.

A NLD in the cup final would be a sight to behold. Bit of a lose/lose for us whoever wins.

Yep, wondering if we might have dodged a bullet with him.
Although to be fair we were hit full-force by the Howitzer that was Loppy.
Hard to say, Potter at Chelsea was called a fraud nearly every Weekend football thread on here with every bad performance... But he's here now and nobody thinks that.. Arteta was called it at Arsenal, Howe at Newcastle...

Bournemouth were ridiculed on here for sacking their manager and employing Iraola, so hard to say isn't it, may need time may just be the wrong fit.
Yea we know, you told us all this just a few days ago.

Such a basic thing to miss too. He was in line with them, with the ball and players starting from a static position. Guaranteed that would have been flagged at the other end.

The only positive from that is that the media will be screaming “they’re back” and they’ll continue to fuck up.

The VAR introduction has made all top level officials worse. Linesmen just punt most weeks now knowing VAR will sort it out, so when they don’t have it, they are all ends up.

Or it was Man Utd in the last minute at Old Trafford so he gave all five that were in offside positions the benefit of the doubt, whoever got on the end of it 👍🏼

They were offside before he took it, when he took it and when they scored it.. How can the lino miss that, always behind them.

On the one hand, I admire Amorin sticking to his principles. I also don’t mind his honesty.

But he has set himself up now. If he doesn’t drastically improve next season after a full window and preseason it starts to look arrogant not to change tact and accept what worked in Portugal doesn’t work in England.

He might have signed players for us suitable to his style, but his system would have been a disaster with our current squad!

Yeah, I mean look how well they are playing right now, definitely favourites.
You do realise there's a month before they play again in Europe?

Once they get players back fit and new signings settled, they'll be hot favourites.

They have to be favourites for the Europa League when you look at the remaining teams.

Turned out to be a win/win for us the way things went.

Not so much for you, Chutney son.

Ange son, you make it very easy. Maybe coach your players not to be so shit, that's the best way to  avoid such a severe kicking.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou says it is "really easy" for people to "stick their boots" into his team.

It sure is Ange, it sure is.

I’d back Manchester United, Lazio, Roma, real sociedad, Frankfurt and Bilbao to all beat them. Especially the form they’re in.

You must be devastated.
Fucking hell. Imagine losing to MANCHESTER UNITED. 🤣
