Re: West Ham pushing the PSR narrative
Anyone else think they should scrap this nonsense or at least have a very serious rethink?
I know it's a bit crap, but if some rich cսnt wants to spend a load on a football team why shouldn't he be allowed to?
With the present state of affairs we have, it's the lawers that are winning and a shit load of our money paid to our clubs and the Premier league goes to fat rich lawers. Really fucking crap.

Re: West Ham pushing the PSR narrative
There is no wage cap.
PSR rules change 25/26 to not being able to spend more than 85% of revenue on “squad related costs” (wages, bonuses and transfers).
our revenue is £270m so £230m would be our PSR cap. I think our wage bill to turnover is something like 60%. Leaving something like £68m for player trading.

Re: West Ham pushing the PSR narrative
All I’ve read for months is that we have money and are nowhere near the wage cap. Also add into the fact the wages we will save with the out of contract players in the summer.
I thought it was Potter that pushed back on players that Sullivan was trying to push in Jan because he wanted his players. So the money was there.

Re: West Ham pushing the PSR narrative
It’s all there in the accounts.
How that spend was recognised in the accounts will depend on the structure of those deals and the length of contracts those players were given.

Re: West Ham pushing the PSR narrative
I’d like to know what happened to our yearly transfer budget 2 years ago when we sold Rice
the club always spins it that we signed Kudus, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse and Mavropanos with the Rice money, but not only did those players not cost as much as what we sold Rice for, but we also sold Scamacca and Vlasic for decent money as well
the fact we made money that season should more than enough cover our big spend up this season
but low and behold were skint, there’s something very fishy going on at this club

No idea if accurate but seems a weird thing to make up.
Yeah, it's true. It comes from the post balance sheet section of the 2024 accounts:
"Future transfer fees receivable totalling £69.2m were accelerated without recourse. The total cash received was £64.0m, after deduction of £5.1m interest charges."
Presumably this was done to pay for last summer's spending spree.

Re: West Ham pushing the PSR narrative
It would be worse.
that’s why we’re the only PL team to make a profit outside of player trading.
the free stadium is the best thing about the club.

yup i believe thats true.
which means we have very little owed to us on transfers but a fuck load owed to other clubs.
so you can start to see a way to how we could make a loss of £100m+ this coming year.
obviously we can flog one or two more players to help that situation.

Whetstone himself said 3 weeks ago that West Ham "have a £157m buffer zone" for PSR. Now he's going on about a £80m loss this summer. According to him that's partly down to the upcoming €40m purchase of Todibo, but he must realise that this cost would almost certainly be spread over the 4-5 years of his contract anyway as all transfers are, so would amount to only about €8m this year. The rest is down to the repayment of a bank loan, but there are constantly loans being paid back and renewed, so it's not all that relevant to this summer and PSR. Perhaps it is to cash flow, but it's probable that they'd renew or take out a new loan anyway if necessary.
And if Whetstone is just being a Sully stooge and under orders to let us know that there's no money to spend, you'd have thought that his midget puppet master would prefer he didn't blame the losses on bad business practices, such as payday type loan deals costing huge interest payments.
It was said in the Stiedten article that he was told by 'the club heirarchy' that we were up against PSR and that it was loans only in January. And all we ended up with was one loan.
So make of that what you will. I'm wondering if they are banking on moving on Kudus or Paqueta in the summer.
Then again we apparently bid 57 mill for Duran so it could just as easily all be fabrication. Never know with the dwarf. We're up against it when it suits him and not when it doesn't, I am sure.

Ashworth wont be coming in. Sullivan has abandoned that new fangled DOF idea as a failure. Not that we had one because Steidten was Tech Director and did mot make all football decisions and had to accept Sullivan overuling him on appointong Lopetegui, accept Lopetegui choices and Sullivan picks for 6 players that came in.
we will drift further and further behind. Potter has raised spirits but ultimately the psychologically disordered owner and chairman will undermine and ruin everything. He needs to be hounded out but his propaganda campaign works with most fans believing his narrative of it being everyone else’s failt when things inevitably go wrong.
And with tourists now making up an increasing number of matchday attendances ( by design , concession removal the latest step), there will be no more demos.
Potter will need to live up to his namesake’s role as a magician to overcome the toxic presence of Sullivan, who ironically does want success but only if he is seen to be involved which is of course why it will not happen. The ultimate conflict of interest.
Jesus Christ.
