Feet, they or he ( if they are the same poster) is getting a power kick from winding people up on the forum.  Basic psychology, the “need” to irritate and upset to conpensate for insecurities, low self esteem, inadequacies. By belittling other people with posts mocking them, it is used to elevate oneself and feel superior or “bigger” or “better”. ( mind you there are huge % of people on social media and forums with similar, undiagnosed, mental health needs) .  A self assured person has no such need and simply accepts different opinions exist, is humble, open minded and willing to be wrongeven if they dont agree. In this case supporters of West Ham should not be important to them since they are happy with supporting Spurs. But clearly thats not the case.  Supporting football team can be an extension of ego and we all have to be careful it doesnt become “all about us”. Of course we all get upset when our team is poor or loses but it doesnt mean by assiciation we are losers. But some people do feel that way as the “disease of comparison” kicks in and fuels the need to troll etc. 

Anyway its all quite amusing most of the time and no doubt interesting for a therapist, counseller etc even if it does “spam up” a lot of threads. The best remedy is simply to ignore all posts from certain individuals, deny them the “supply” they need. Might take a little while for them to stop posting, if their psychological weakness is deep, but eventually they will stop just like a child that cries to get attention or their own way.

Excuse the above psych babble btw but it comes from years of HR and management training BS back in the day. All basic stuff, nothing clever about it but its true as it ever was and watching the Ladysmith/Ferret and others interactions would make a decent case study

TalkSPORT were LAUDING over Moyes earlier saying as an ex defender he'll be able to sort out their defence.

Any conclusions are moot at this point. Its so early in the tenure of both managers. So many variables at play like recruitment, injuries, relationships with players and CEOs or owners to mention a few.

Potter just needs to eek out a few victories over the next month or so. The real work for him and Moyes starts in the summer. A full preseason too is key.

1 month into each manager’s tenure and Moyes has clearly the better results. Potter walked into a spate of injuries to 4 key players in mitigation. He also, imo, inherited a overall weaker squad courtesy of Moyes ( 14 players ) Sullivan, by appointing Lopetegui it led to inappropriate recruitment so Lopetegui himself didnt help and Steidten too played a part. Moyes did not inherit players with the ability of our 4 or 5 best but his squad overall looks stronger with 20 plus players that are usable and of course only injury to calvert Lewin who was having a poor season.

Lets see where we are in 4 or 5 games time when Potter hopefully can play most of the best players in the small squad at his disposal.

Even them though, Imo we will only really see if his appointment is going to match early expectations which have been positive.  Next xmas, this discussion will make a lot more sense. Unless of course its about oneupmanship of those with low esteem, insatible egos and a need for feeling better than others achieved by trying to belittle them.

I had a great time in prague and i like him a lot, but i'm so glad he's not managing west ham anymore.

Frankly I'd rather watch the way Potter has us setup playing football, than watch the way Moyes set us up.  Even in ght Conference league final....take that occasion away, and our performance was borderline unwatchable...it was only the occasion that made it ok.  That plus the batterings when the players got tired of it.

It can work for a while with siege mentality set in, and everyone battling for the cause...but like an office worker putting in overtime for a few days to get something over the line....when that becomes the norm and days turn into weeks and months, they fatigue, swtich off, want out, and it falls apart.  The same will happen for Moyes at Everton as the way he plays football and his whole mentality is totally unsustainable long term, and nothing like what the players their will have grown up wanting to be involved in.

Delighted he's gone.  Delighted the only time I'll see him at a West Ham game is when he's setting up his latest charges for a 30% posession, passive, smash and grab attempt.

Potter said the other day (or words to this effect):

"I think the fans want to watch attacking football.  But when we don't have the ball, they also want us to be aggressive in getting the ball back and working hard".

The bloke has immediately grasped what fans at a club like ours are interested in, more so than winning trophies.  If you want to follow a club that wins stuff....we're not really that club.

At some point it will turn ugly, and he will remind everyone how he “saved” them from relegation, when they weren’t in any real danger.

I don’t want to come across as a Moyes hater. We had some good times. But his time was up with us. We were only going one way, and doing it in a shit, boring fashion. The myth that has been built up around him has become incredible.

As I said before, Everton right now is perfect club for Moyes. Their only expectation level is to stay in PL. Nothing more. That's pretty much the level he works at. They have fuck all money so he has no expectation to go out and get decent transfer business done. They have a small, limited squad with very little depth and so he works with a core of players. It's fucking teed up perfectly for him. He is in his element and can't lose. That's when Moyes comes into his own. When he has low expectation and a book full of excuses if or when it goes wrong. As it stands, right now its going right and he will be the Moyesiah. He will keep them in the PL. No doubt. 

Roll forward to next season. They move home. New stadium. New chapter. New expectation. There will come a point when the Everton fans will demand to see a return for the move. I am sure they have been given the drivel of bigger stadium, bigger attendance, bigger returns, better players. If that turns out to be the case, that's when Moyes will start to struggle. If Everton do turn it around financially and they do start to spend some decent money and get in some decent players, that is when things will turn toxic for Moyes. And I can just see him now peddling the old "This is Everton. At least we're not in relegation battle" bollocks. 

 

 

That's it. When things have been so bad that all you crave is a positive result no matter how you obtain it, then he's perfect. When the expectation is low and you're happy to see it ground out in an ugly draw or 1-0 win, then it's perfect to sit through anything just to go home happy. It's when expectations of performances as well kick in that it becomes tedious and uninspiring and painful even to watch. 

When you expect to be on the back foot all the time even against the other worst sides in the division you can look past it but when you expect to be the aggressor and play some football, then you just cannot.

take your point, but must admit I've been mildly impressed how modest he has been after games, not been bigging himself up at all. Everton is def the right club for him.

it was a roaring success for two years and then went wrong.
those 4 results were all in his last 5 months of management - there are plenty of others over the last two seasons he was in charge.

watching Everton last night made me think "why were we so shit for the last two years under Moyes?".
lets be honest, it was a scrappy and niggly game which was very low on true quality.
