Anyone else feel like it’s gone?
My 43rd birthday today
I’ll admit I’ve been bought quite a few 8% beers by my family which I’ve gone through today
but they’ve gone home now and I’m sitting here now thinking about West Ham and trying to evaluate how I feel
I have 3 loves in life, music, film and sport
West Ham taking the crown in the sport department
but I just feel like it’s gone
by that I mean my passion, I still care, I’m still making this post which means I obviously feel something
but when we go behind it doesn’t hurt like it used to, and on the rare occasion we score when it matters I just don’t react like I used to
I feel like I’ve fallen out of love with this club but I can’t just forget about them and fuck off and do something else
Anyone else feeling like this?
if not then fair enough and delete this thread

Re: Anyone else feel like it’s gone?
I find football boring as fuck now, but that's because I'm a dinosaur who only really loved it for its passion and as I was bought up on it when players were still allowed to tackle. Dicks would miss half the season nowadays for nothing.
My head can't get round the constant cheating from players (openly encouraged to do so by the powers that be) and how atrocious and unnecessary VAR is.
Not watched a game on tv not involving west ham for several years and only have us on the tablet whilst not really paying much attention to it.
Is what it is, will always love west ham but the days of missing family funerals to go and watch them have long gone, though still love an away game for the social side.

Pretty fucking pathetic ain't it. The OP was pissed had a 'moment' and it's brought out all the sentimental fairies. Ooohhh I don't like football anymore, the games gone. Proper load of whinge bags. Worst thread this year to date, well OK apart from my Grant Mitchell one.

Re: Anyone else feel like it’s gone?
I have a similar feeling, but for football in general. I don't find the same respect or love of the game as I used to. Even having had the quality of Ronaldo and Messi to be in awe of in the last couple of decades, I don't think there are nearly as many world class players to admire anymore.
Football has become a really ugly rich mans sport whilst conversely every competetion cheapened. Used to love the WC, but now it's just overhyped with little magic. Partially I think it's over saturation of the game, but I think modern coaching is also to blame, as every country/ club team seems to play the same way, and individual talent has been shackled. I doubt Maradona would have been the player he was in this day and age.

Re: Anyone else feel like it’s gone?
43? Fucking hell. Wait until you are 76 and no matter how much you've tried you'll never stop being sick when we lose and elated when we win. You'll still be climbing the steps to your seat even with a walking stick. I've tried for years to ignore them and not give a fuck, without success. I've tried all sorts of alternative interests, such as fishing, and world travel. At least with crack cocaine you can give it up. Sorry son but you've sold your soul and you won't stop until the curtains in the crematorium swallow you up, as your friends and family sing Bubbles.

Re: Anyone else feel like it’s gone?
FMOB maverick, I've almost had my ST for as long as you've had years walking this little rock in the Universe, that makes me feel old, I sort of get what you say but it's because once again we;ve failed to build on a successful period, that's the real West Ham way, a poorly run business with no real leadership, look at our pievious Chairmen over recent decades for proof, Martin Cearns, cսnt Brown, Eggy and the thief, now the porno dwarf.
As a Club we've never had owners that are prepared to invest, I accept that Sullivan has spent decent amounts in recent years, but he has done it all on loans from fucking Klarna based on our future revenue streams from TV & player sales, Brady is nothing but a charlatan and Sullivan is well, at best a sex pest.
Sad state of affairs, as usual, but keep the faith mate

The whole game is gone. Just be grateful that you were around in the 90s and even the 2000s.

Re: Anyone else feel like it’s gone?
The game itself has become far less enjoyable for me, way to much corporate influence for my liking.
As for West Ham, I'll always have an emotional connection to the club as I've always seen it as an extension of my East End roots. I don't get upset when we lose any more and if I had to choose between spending time with my grandkids or watching us play then I know where I'd like to be and it isn't at the London Stadium. I'm grateful for the memories I have, I was at Wembley in 75,80 and 81 and Brussels in 76 when I was still fanatical and those were among my best days ever. On a football level, I really can take it or leave it now but on a wider level I'll always love the club as it's played a big part in the majority of my life and it was a massive connection between my old man and me when he was around.

Mike, “ more & more old school fans will give up. which is ultimately what they want”
that was Brady’s stated business plan at Birmingham City. They never change do they?

I’m the one calling you out as a weird, spineless cսnt, who lives his whole life on this forum yet wants it shutdown. And tries to police other people’s opinions. Go fuck yourself you utter cսnt.
Now feel free to have the last word, like always. You’ll be getting no more attention.

It makes no odds to me what the soppy know it all cսnt says to me these days, that's long gone. The site is all but gone, only about a dozen posters left now, I'm only here for a bit of fun now and some football chat from time to time.
