I'm the other way round - absolutely hate Royle Family but love Early Doors

Manuel - Thanks, mate. I didn't go a bundle on the Clunes Reggie Perrin remake, but glad you enjoyed it. If you liked Royal Family I suspect you will enjoy Early Doors even more!

Are there still temporary traffic lights by the McVitie's factory?

And, more importantly, do you like circuses?
Surf - Will always remember you gave me the heads up on Reggie Perrin, which is brilliant, also went on the watch the remake with Martin Clunes. So might have to give Early Doors another look.

If you haven’t already, when you get a chance, watch American Primeval on Netflix.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the lead female character
I don't have Netflix. I do love a Western, though.

Agree, the early episodes are my favorite's too, gets a bit repetitive in later episodes, but this stuff you can go to any time, often go months then watch an episode and you pick it all up!

Been watching The Blacklist on Netflix with James Spader for some months now, fuck knows how many episodes but have enjoyed it and still going! Again you can go a week or 2 and then pick it up for a few episodes, its a few years old now but gets a thumbs up from me.

It's not possible to like every actor/actress. As far as the revolting Ygritte is concerned, it is the character I can't stand, not the actress.

Nurse.

I've just finished re watching Game of Thrones and yes, it's magnificent. I got into it very late (2018) after being relentlessly nagged by my kids to give it a go. I sat through 2 episodes with my boy and i was hooked, i was on Amazon the next day buying the box set. So many great characters, storylines and locations, I really can't speak of it highly enough.

She's the only character I genuinely despise. She's just a chippy vulgarian, stomping around the snowdrifts sneering about 'soft southerners' and their privilege, like Angela Rayner in fur knickers.
That reminds me of Lethal Weapon 2 which featured Patsy Kensit as a (supposedly) South African love interest for Mel Gibson. When she got killed (sorry, spoiler alert), I think we were supposed to feel Riggs' pain and anger.

I was just relieved that I wouldn't have to hear her 'South African' accent again for the rest of the film.

Too many lead characters make it much too far into films and TV programmes. Much better to mix it up and lose a few early on.

I've tried to get into this and watched some episodes fron SE01, SE02 and the first of SE03. I really can't see what all the fuss is about. It's just average.

Bloody hell Zico you think this is slow? You should watch some other Netflix stuff where they really drag it out. Three  episodes in and I think it's pretty good.

Not totally convinced of De Niro as an ex President. Problem is when I see him now I always think of Meet The Fockers.

Do the early episodes still stand up to the test of time?

Or would you suggest I pile in on the latest series and just pick things up as they go along?

It's always sunny in Philadelphia, if you've not watched it, give it a go, starts off great and gets funnier and funnier
I've thought about watching this as I think I would like it, but it's 170 episodes ffs, so puts me off.

Would you say it's better than Everybody Loves Raymond?
Imagine Family Guy as a sitcom, but even more gross/non PC and funnier.
