My mate's Dad's dog | The 'ITK' rumours thread...

Post stubbo »

Since we don't have a site ITK seemingly anymore (Wendel, we miss you), this thread is for posting up purported 'ITK' gossip from elsewhere to discuss.

So if you see something from someone with reasonable likelihood of having a meaningful source, post it up in the thread to discuss.

Sources I'm aware of at least worthy of discussion when they report something.  If you know of others let me know and I'll add to the list.

WestHamRumours

Username: Fabrizio Romano...general 'know everyone's in the transfer universe.

Username: Plettigoal...German journo...close links to Steidten...maybe less ITK for WH now.

Claret and Booze...Nick reports links to an intermediary of some description. Clearly knew someone linked to John Duran deal...no internal Club links

Hammers Chat Forum...Gonzo has direct contact with the 'Senior Source' (assumed Sullivan)

Will get round to linking the above where possible eventually.

I wouldn't be so sure.  Rumours coming out of the hospital that fixed him hint that he may now be bionic.

I don't think i'd keep any of the four mentioned. The only one would be Antonio but all depends how he is after his injury. I highly doubt he will be anything other than 50% of the player this season.

To progress we need to upgrade all of them or push someone through from the academy. Cresswell and Coufal will only decline further, with no europe we really dont need to pack a squad out with past it average players.

if the first two look to become third choice/backroom staff I don’t see a problem. Antonio as a third choice impact player if he’s not totally crocked after his accident, again, happy enough.

Shovel feet, I love him, but if Walker-Peters comes in as backup to Wan-Bissaka, unless he’s happy to be third choice while he’s still got legs, time to move on.

This all came from ExWHU last night. Sounds like they're saying we're short on the cash needed to do a big turnover and buy all new. So there'll be compromises....who can we get another year out of as 'squad fillers' and which positions are priority? Eg Fab continues as backup, maybe sell Areola, and replace as number 1 keeper etc

Keep Cresswell as he's ok as a backup. Coufal makes no sense so don't see that one.

Wow- I wonder if it's just out of necessity i.e. we simply can't afford to turn over that much of the squad this summer and have to prioritise. I guess none have resell value at all, Cress has been decent as third CB, Fab might fancy coaching.
No idea, I don’t even know if it’s true.

Appreciate you passing this on.
Bit surreal and I am vigourously smashing down my hopes with a sledge hammer.
I didn’t check if this was on the list to be ok but givemesport are running and article that says…

According to Tavolieri, West Ham are hoping to beat the competition by offering David a lucrative contract, with the deal's total value worth up to €20m (£16.5m).Barcelona are not expected to match that amount, despite being the 24-year-old’s ‘dream destination’ in the upcoming transfer window.

and hammernews are saying…

However, Arsenal want to sign the 25-year-old striker as well, with a total package worth around £17 million required in wages and agent fees to get a deal for the Canadian done.

I feel like I have now turned this into a transfer thread so will stop there now but know how much you bang on about him.

This is from Ex discussing freebies:

-Daniel Cummings from Celtic is done doesn’t have to be announced as its a pre contract and there will be tribunal
On Saturday morning we made a really big official offer for Jonathan David to his agent (big sign on). Potter and MacAulay are desperate for him and leading charm offensive although he will probably have bigger suitors. Potter wants him and Ferguson.
-We are far down the process with Walker Peters. There is a very good chance he is coming as he is keen

I feel like we'll be in a long queue for Delap but it would be a good bit of business if it isn't for real silly money.

Would any of the top 4 be interested?  Not sure.  But if Newcastle lose Isac then expect they might be keen.   Can see maybe Villa sniffing as a replacement for Watkins.

Certainly worth a try?

Parts of Delaps game really remind me of Bowen, direct, strong and brave would be my choice if there is any chance of getting him.

Well here's the latest from dual-poster Joyful....
Interesting! Last week I posted WH needed to look at the Club Brugge v Atalanta game, they did in fact have somebody there, ! watching Ordonez, Talib and De Cuyper, well done WH, it will be good if something comes of it, WH are looking at people that can play different positions, ( very good plan ) especially on the left side, at Cb and Lb and maybe ldm, and compiling a list, one of these is Kiwior, who can't get much game time at Arsenal

Two opposing examples . Boniface has surfaced again, let's be clear, he's going to cost nothing less than £40m, for those, that where at Leverkusen 2 seasons back, there could never be a better example of a centre forward, that would perfect for WH , think young Antonio, but two good feet, and strong in the air, Sullivans stooges must be out with collection boxes again! Now the REVERSE system Promise David bought by Union st Galloise in Belgium, from a junior club in Eastern Europe for small change, 250k by way of the stats system now being employed at WH, is young striker same mould as Boniface value now about £20m

WH are amongst a few clubs which have been looking at a Brazil Ian at Corinthians Breeno Bidom. mdf, in the background WH have not overlooked, Delap at Ipswich, but Chelsea are on this one, Ipswich will be looking for a big profit on him, he would be a great fit, and a natural first choice at WH

WH receive answer from Brugge that 20 m euros is asking price for De Cuyper, WH also discover that Milan and Arsenal have now enquired on this player, WH are also looking at reviving interest in Hayden Hackney of Middlesbrough

The people around David want him in Europe at least, money aside. Not a fan of his agent either but they are tight.

Not convinced on Gomes, pretty lightweight for the Premier League and gets injured a fair bit.

So Graham, we can't get Ferguson back, and Gomes and David are too expensive unfortunately.
However, I've lined up a really great deal for Callum Wilson and Jonjo Shelvey. Great value. They'll come in for 5 years each. Done deal- I knew you'd say yes so I just went ahead. Unfortunately we're tight against the rules so that's probably all we can do this summer unfortunately.

Oh, and we've struck deals to sell Bowen and Paqueta.

Cheers Graham
