Re: No one likes them
Bloke swung his foot six feet in the air in the face of a fast onrushing forward. If you don’t think that’s dangerous play, intentional or otherwise, then you’re a complete moron.

Re: No one likes them
He was a fucking idiot putting his foot that high, heat of the moment or not and he should have known better. He’s not an amateur. It’s absolutely dangerous and reckless play doing that when he and others are all converging on a ball at head height where other players are putting their heads in that space and don’t expect to get kicked studs first in the head, even if the keeper didn’t mean to kick him which I absolutely think is the case. Both of them are really lucky it was just a glancing blow rather than full in the face which could have been extremely nasty.
The ban is fitting because there needs to be a strong deterrent toward any keeper doing the same again in that situation because it could be a lot worse if it happens again, even if he didn’t mean it and it was just an accident. He was in a difficult situation and made a poor decision in rushing out compounded with another one sticking his foot in there. Clearly no malice unlike a that Ben thatcher elbow which ironically got the same length of ban (that one should have been a lot longer) and the boy shouldn’t be getting any abuse for it as I bet he felt awful the moment it had happened, but the ban is fitting all things considered. It’s not ‘because it’s Millwall’.

I suspect the media are 99% driving this in their quest for a story which supports the authorities hatred of football fans who have the audacity to actually go to games to support their team.
Re: No one likes them
Fuck Millwall.
I’ve seen them paint themselves as victims online. Not typical of the south London hard man image they like to portray.
As Sold0 said; there’s a reason a river separated us.

This lad has mistimed a challenge rushing out, complicated by the striker pushing the defender out of the way. The over reaction to this has been mental, and has led to death threats being made to his young family ffs. Read his statement, in these days of mental health being made such a huge thing, no one has considered what he might be going through from what was clearly a split second accident. And again, the Palace player has accepted his apology.
I actually agree with their fans, this is because it's Millwall. Also makes you wonder, is there something else at play here? If it was Mateta's foot and Roberts head, for example, would we be seeing this pathetic meltdown?
You make a fair point and there is definitely a degree of the fact it’s Millwall playing a part in this. But then they do like the notoriety and the ‘no one likes us’ stuff, not that it justifies this

The lad mistimed rushing out, didn't even look like a foul in real time. On review it was a red card, but he clearly didn't try to intentionally hurt him, also the striker pushed the defender, if he hadn't done he wouldn't have got caught. Funny enough, the Palace player was fine about it.
The way some of you fannies are going on, Dicks should've been banned for life for the 'accidental' stamp on John Spencer.
I was making the point about Kudus ban being over the top if you read again

Re: No one likes them
Their keeper got off lightly with a 6 game ban. Mateta was kicked in the head and had to have 25 stitches. Kudus got a 5 game ban because 2 Spurs players went down like they’d been shot after a slap that wouldn’t have taken down a 5 year old
