then why the earthly fuck is he here?  we have a habit of signing players who we never play
I think the Ferguson signing was just to appease the fans.

Fullcrock had just got injured, and with Antonio out, they probably felt like they had to at least bring some sort of striker in.

We win that comfortably with a proper striker . Better team by far in the second half . But it is what it is .

Annoying.
We're not creating enough going forward or clinical enough when we do.
Been this way for years now, which is not surprising considering we don't play with a proper centre forward whether we have any on the books or not.

Every game this season will be what it is. It doesn’t really matter. It’s all building blocks. The first part of the job was the stop looking like we would concede whenever a team attacked us. We’ve done that, so the next step is being better at passing and keeping the ball. We’re doing that in my opinion. Then we need to move onto the next phase which is to be more fluid in attack, and create more. Ultimately that is going to require some personnel upgrades.

If I had one criticism, we need to find a system where we can play a central striker, and get Bowen wide, with a proper creative player on midfield/10. The current formation is good at making us solid, but isn’t conducive to scoring more. Don’t really care what it means for Kudus. Feel he’s always looking to move on, but more importantly I find him so frustrating.

I will judge Potter 6 months into next season. He replaced a disaster, it was never going to be straightforward.

As for Everton, aside from slightly more pressing than we did under Moyes, they were reliant on scoring from balls being flung into the box, the same as we were last season. Generally, centre backs are happy to deal with that all day, it’s their bread and butter. I’m glad we’ve moved on from that.

Not seen the game but by the look of the stats it looks a bit of a borefest with 9 shots on target between the two teams
How do you avoid late equalisers? How about being positive & scoring a second
With nothing to play for surely it’s a time to look at Ferguson & Guilherme & give games to Casey, Orford & play Scarles every game.

3 weeks til our next game FFS!

Surely the first move he will make. Cm, striker, maybe a GK and then depth.

Tedious, insipid borefest but for a moment of Soucek brilliance and when you're looking to Soucek for that the noise you can here is the bottom of the barrel.

One development is we now seem to be able to pass sideways and backwards simultaneously, in fact for a moment I thought it was the six Nations.

Had Plodder been brave and made the planned changes despite the goal we may have turned the screw and got a second but Greyham by name Grey by nature, his arse flapped and along with his bottle so went 2 points

More peas Norma?

Shit ourselves again after we scored. Pretty pony all round, we are clueless when it comes to playing the ball around their penalty area, Kudus was disappointing.

Only bright parts were VAR finally getting it right with their penalty decision and Souceks finish.

A point on the road is to be respected I guess but it’s definitely 2 points lost.

Players put in the effort if you want to dig for a positive.

Now we have yet another break.

Yeah agree. He can’t be up to much if he’s not getting any time at all. Unless he really has to be wrapped in cotton wool. Sure as shit hasn’t looked any good when he’s been on definitely not worth sacrificing a midfielder for. Fullkrug will definitely be more of a difference maker when he’s back.

Was like watching Moyes’ West Ham at the end with us sitting deeper and deeper, and being unable to keep hold of the ball. Conceding an equaliser, then conspiring to nearly lose the game at the end.

Just want this season over now.

This manager is going to do great things with us.

Correct result overall. 2 mediocre but organised teams who struggle to score.

All players put the effort in. Todibo and back 5 decent especially Emerson who outshone Scarles in his last game if I’m honest.

Same problem of central midfield hindering any kind of build up play thru the middle third and Kudus was poor imo and was easily dispossessed. But both he and Bowen need a target man to play off and with.

A decent point but conceding late makes it feel like 2 lost.

As we said this time last season, its all coming down  to getting summer recruitment right and “legs” for that midfield and sorting out a central striker.

Same kind of game as at Newcastle. Kept it tight, very few chances but we converted one and survived.

Obviously it's an away game so you don't expect as much as at home. But I dont think we were doing anything radically different here between the two games. But people will feel far more positive about this one than the last game. Even though Newcastle are a far better side than Everton.

I do think defensively we are making progress with Potter. But I dont know how he's going to shake up our front line because we just dont create much clear chances at all. I think Kudus decision making at the front is hurting us.

Overall, glad we didnt lose to Moyes!

That's the frustrating thing about big tom.

He seems to score in the games he does the least in in terms of possession.

It's actually a really good survival tactic on his behalf.

Everton are certainly finding a way somehow in almost every game. They didn’t look like scoring all afternoon but when your luck is in your luck is in. We probably didn’t use the bench well enough although by far the better team in the second half.

Shame, we deserved three points second half as surprisingly a Moyes team came out looking like their half time cuppa was drugged.

Draw fair overall but we should have capitalized on that second half spell when we were on top. Bringing a striker on the second minute of injury time is just puzzling.
