Dog Breeds
I grew up with Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I’ve had a French Bulldog and a Jack Russell mix, looked like a Rat terrier. Smart dog, sort of dog that would run along side your bike on the boardwalk.
Out here you see a lot of English Bulldogs and Pitt Bulls. The American Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a beautiful animal.
Some great breeds, Thinking of getting a Rat Terrier.
What dog do you have or want?

Row.
I was in Warrington over the weekend, there are some vicious looking cunts on leads up there.
The dog population seems friendly enough though.

A really good guard dog and we all miss him like crazy
Great dogs mate, Ronald Regan owned one

Re: Dog Breeds
A Saluki/cocker cross from a pikey site. Best natured dog I've ever known. Runs bloody fast too. I guess it just wasn't up to killing hares or whatever pikies do with them. We've had her for 3 of her 4 years and love her to bits.

Re: Dog Breeds
Had a rescue pup many years ago from londonrebel on here, reported as black lab pups, we called her Ninja. She kept getting bigger and bigger and we were accused of over feeding her. Turns out she was a labweiler, fantastic family pet much missed.
Re: Dog Breeds
Cavachon who's a bit of a mincer
He's never been happier than since covid as I wfh full time now and i definitely live in a perfect place on the Essex coast, as great for getting me out into nature for decent walks.
French bulldogs which are a massive craze now are absolutely cunts. Never met one that isn't an aggressive little wanker.
Looked after mates rottie once and 2 of them were jumping at his face trying to bite them whilst the owner done fuck all. Well at least until told him I'd take his muzzle off so that he could defend himself.
Bollocks to pugs as well, ugly asthmatic fuckers.

Re: Dog Breeds
Border Collie. Scatty as a box of frogs and can embarrass the shit out of me when he tries to round up groups of people by running round in circles. He is fucking mental but in a good way, can't help but laugh at him even when he drives me mad.

Re: Dog Breeds
We have Welsh Terriers - bred for ratting and vermin control. One if not the oldest recognised breeds in the UK and on the endangered breeds list.
Proper handsome dogs with tons of personality!
Personally I don't like all those Staffy and Bully breeds just jaws on legs owned by chavs and wannabe drug dealers. Although I do understand why so many are owned by the homeless as they look scary as hell and friends of mine do say they are good pets when owned by responsible owners!

Re: Dog Breeds
Had a staffy when we lived in London.
Lovely dog, died too young at 7.
Now have a cockapoo coming up for 11, and a rescue Jack Russell aged approx. 4
The daughters found the JR wandering in the middle of the road so bought her home.
Took her to the local animal rescue centre the following morning.
Swore blind we weren't gonna take her in, but the daughters (and missus) ganged up on me and she came home to us a couple of weeks later.
One of the best decisions they've made (on my behalf)
Anyone thinking of getting a dog, I'd always recommend the local animal shelter first.

Re: Dog Breeds
Had loads of dogs over the years, currently have a Rottie cross Staff and a American Staff cross bull dog but its 80% Am Staff, so comes on runs with me and is very athletic.
Re: Dog Breeds
Prefer dogs to cats. But still get pissed off with owners thinking their dog is cute or charming in some way when they fuck up the ball game you are playing in the park with your kids. Or worse stick their slobbering chops over the food you are quietly eating on the bench bothering no one.

Re: Dog Breeds
We have a Wire Haired Vizsla.
Was very hard work as a pup. Approaching 5 now and he is fantastic. Such a character.
Still bloody bonkers mind.

Re: Dog Breeds
That’s what I have now, and have had for the last two decades. They’re fucking barmy, always up for anything, bounce off the walls, will want to play at the least appropriate time and think they’re tiny and will lay on you with all their body weight.
I love all dogs, but I’ll always have Boxers until I’m too old.

Sydney_Iron wrote: ↑21 Mar 2025, 00:07 Mines an RSPCA special! Got a bit of everything in her, papers just say Fox Terrier cross but some Pug and king Charles Cavelier in her for sure, weighs all of 4kg, but can run like the wind and will play all day, such a happy little thing, love her to bits
Shes 14 now, but still comes out running with me each morning for shorter distances up to 5K, she loves it as well, bought a special harness that she is attached to and off we go, good as gold as long as she doesn't spot a Cat, Lizard or Bush Turkey, then it all goes out the window
If your getting s dog, get from a rescue like RSPCA, don't pay stupid prices for some pedigree mutt that's most likely in bred to fuck, rescue dogs are fantastic, most are cross breeds but never had a problem with them, save a life and save some money whist giving to a good cause.
Fox terriers are nice looking animals!
