So few options and lacking the legs and athletes to really compete in the Premiership regardless of manager is my take at this point.

Potter comes under the microscope proper next season for me assuming he gets in a few players he wants.

Tonight? We looked much better when Alvarez / Soler made it a 4 in midfield and he, Soler and the German really helped.  We lost the game first half with just 2 in midfield and 3 strikers isolated as Wolves bossed the middle.  Still struggle to get and create much but again that will need more dynamism in the centre of the park.

Id only keep Alvarez and Paqueta in central midfield but the latter only if we cant get decent money for him. Anyone we can get decent money for Id be happy to let go tbh as we need a full rebuild again to get energy, pace and strength in.

Keep the German, but need a young central striker. 2 central midfielders with that mych needed pace, strength and another CB quicker and better than Stavros and Kilman. Oh and a new keeper.  About 150 million again should do it. Shame we’re allegedly broke?  Kudus and a few others might get us a few bob for the coffers though because we are where we were 12 months ago and having to start over with this squad

is money the answer? I thought the idea with Potter is that he was a proper coach. Someone who can transform players, has patterns of play and actually analyses the opposition for weakness etc.

I'm not seeing any of that at the moment.

Eddie Howe took a shit Newcastle side, transformed a shit striker into a monster midfielder (JoeLinton) and just revamped the whole thing in his first few months. I think he only got Trippier in, I want to see some of that.

Wow, what insight...

OK. Slow, lacks ambition in the ball, extra slow ob the turn, lacks positional sense when we lose possession and no sense of urgency when out of possession.

Agree, but does it really matter?
Brave and important to try out the squad after most players had been through double matches for their countries.

Season was over and still is.

Lets see what happens with the squad. It seem like a lot of players will disappear

Pathetic & predictable performance & result.

I was underwhelmed with Potters appointment and though we may as well stuck with Loppy at least until the end of the season.

That has to one of the worst starting line ups in recent years, no surprise we lost.

We needed a striker desperately and signed Ferguson on loan at the end of the window knowing that he needed 3 months to get match fit.
Another masterstroke in the striker area from the club.

It’s becoming a habit, poor first half handing the opposition the initiative before turning it round. Why not just play the right side and tactics from the off. Lost it based on that today.

For me it seems like we dont have the skill and movement to pull a defence apart who are pretty rigid and have good shape. So we try down the sides and then back round again hoping that we can get something from the wings. When that fails we panic and try to lob balls in. Any chances we had seemed to come from the odd defensive mistake.

We will be a VERY low scoring team the way this is going. Yes, defence is relatively better but every team has a mistake in them, so we're most likely draw or lose games if we take this form into next season.

I'm also a bit worried that if we dont see a better style of play in the next month or so, this is how we will be next season as well. I have no idea how this all gets solved. I really dont understand why we are just a shit football team. Just being honest... any ideas???

Potter has got his work cut out over the summer to stop the rot. I have got a feeling we will be in a similar situation this time next season especially with that little mug pulling the strings with transfers

Soler and Alvarez were more positive as well.
I think Guillerme will come good, definitely worth keeping. Ferguson go back tonight.
