Keep pacqueta and sign a proper target man . Like Toney is the way forward. We ain't far off a great side . Best opportunity since the early 80s .

"When Fat Sam parked the bus and the opposing manager of the top teams that didn't get the result they wanted bemoaned this tactic I used to think what are we supposed to do when you've got a team worth nearly double what ours is and the quality is a huge step up......so get over it. Now I think we have some cracking players not far off from where Spurs are at and any manager of the top teams that is moaning about our play is spot on with their criticism of how we play however subtle or plainly they put it...... .....what the fuck has happened that makes you think your manager is a cսnt? I don't want to be like this and considering this is about the first manager I've openly stated that he can fuck off I'd say I've been pretty understanding of what the job of managing West Ham has involved, enough to know there's a few considerations to be made before judging them."

"We defended as deep as I've ever seen us. They got in behind once and scored. Fortunately they lacked the guile to unpick us once we decided to have 7 outfield players camped in our penalty area. We were a bit like a lower league team facing a top side in the cup. The fact that we had chances tells you that defensively they aren't that great... that's why they conceded early against Luton and lost 3 at Fulham... With our squad it's the best we can hope for but he managed that game in a ""leave it as it is an hope for the best"" style and you can't keep asking the same 11 or 12 players to go to the well and sooner or later there will likely be a run of injuries. And that, my friends, is all on Moyes"

"Before Steidten rocked up and brought in Kudus, Alvarez and Mavropanos, Moyes transfers in and existing players inherited were assembled to play Moyesball. As I think we all know, it proved very effective until teams worked it out during his 2nd season just after Xmas IIRC? The players Moyes wanted were to play his low block, sitting deep, narrow and keeping the shape to deny or spoil opposition chances. Then rely on quick counters or set pieces to score. So 5 players ( Zouma, Coufal, Soucek, JWP and Antonio ) still play regularly. Emerson, Benrahma, Downes, Fornals, Scammaca, Haller, Vlasic all gone but only Vlasic was really a Moyes pick, Fornals inherited from Pellegrini played out of position and most of the others via Newman and Sullivan or in the case of Downes it was Warbarton that recommended the player. Paqueta was a Sully pick via Newman and via Mackay another Sully trusted agent I think? But the core 5 mentioned are really the players that we need upgrades on as starters in the first 11 imo. With the exception of Antonio, all too weak and / or too slow or lacking the technique needed to play possession football at pace ( control and passing). Even Fabs inability to distribute the ball is highlighted when he plays but he’s still a great shot stopper. But Moyes setting up his team to stop the opposition who like to play thru or on the counter works very well. Thats wyat he’s good at but watching an “Alamo” style holdut every game is not going to getvyou off your seat or IMO wont take us any further. We’ve peaked under Moyes some while back. The European teams hadnt worked out or had experience of playing against teams that play Moyesball low block and counter which I think was why we’ve been pretty decent in those competitions ( last season the conference standard teams werent great too). Playing Moyesball is the only way we beat Leverkusen over 2 legs but decisions and luck ( deflections etc and injuries ) need to go our way. I dont think it will be enough but Ive said that a few times in Moyes reign and we’ve managed to get thru. But this summer , its all about Steidten and his team getting it right with or without Moyes ( iideally the latter ) in order to upgrade at least 4 or 5 positions as I dont see a way to get the quality without selling Paqueta and avoiding FFP in the process."

"Rossal 2:02 Wed Apr 3 Yea, I think this is going to be a wait and see job, but yup I'd take 85 mil. I find it a bit strange really because let's be very clear here if he gives the ball away like he does for us playing for City he would be ripped apart by Guardiola, and yea the scoop at the end with Kudus in space just to the left was pathetic. But a top player overall, will be interested to see how it pans out, plus you have the betting inquiry still ongoing."

"For me when it opened up and we started pushing a few forward it opened things up at the back. Whilst we could have grabbed a winner so could Spurs. If we had really pushed forward and lost some would have said why did we throw so many forward? It's not often I say this but Moyes was on a damned if he did dammed if he didn't situation last night. It's a bit strange because some on You Tube were saying that was the best game JWP had last night, I don't agree, I don't think he was bad but Soucek and JWP in the middle are the reason why we aren't going to dominate games. It's just not strong enough to win the ball back regularly. I was thinking about JWP as a wing back but that would have to be in a back three and doubt he is quick enough. At least it would be an area where you could use his crossing ability. All in all after the disaster of the weekend a point after going behind so early wasn't too bad, especially considering that Spurs player shot straight at Fabianski with practically the last kcik of the game,.."

"whisper it quietly but isn't £85M for Paqueta looking like great business for us in the summer? A bit inconsistent, only 3 league goals and infuriates quite a bit just like last night How many times did he have way too many touches on edge of our box last night. Overplaying it think he lost it two or three times in dangerous positions. The final play of the game what was he doing trying to scoop it through to Antonio rather than getting a shot off? Don't get me wrong when he is on song he is fantastic, but you rarely see it under Moyes. If we can get another Paqueta for £40M again and then add a LW Kudus or a CB with the other £40M that seems very good business for someone who has 3 league goals"

"Here he is, Northern Spurs, celebrating watches his boys play with the football. Let's all get the bunting out, we sat back with 11 men behind the ball again one of our London rivals and at a night home game under the lights to weasel our way to a draw. At least it weren't 0-6 like it was against another London rival. You going to the open top bus parade tonight to celebrate last night's point?"

"Ok, so you thought Spurs were there for the taking, whilst they spent the majority of the matches camped in our half, with us having 11 men behind the ball. Yeah, I'm not really seeing your point. Technically every team is there for the taking, but you have to get out of your penalty area to really find out, though."

Both the. Newcastle and the Spurs games were preparation for the Krauts. We really should have beaten the Geordies but found out what not to do. With Spurs it was a defensive game to restrict their counters which we did excellently. I think we’re ready to get the most from the hardest game in Europe we’ve had.

"If any right back in the division is competent enough to do that, it's a wonder that they don't bother and that he's got more assists from crosses than any of them. It's not like we've got an incredibly creative team who are setting up chances all game. With a more defensive RB we'd be even more boring to watch and get forward even less."

I thought Soucek is very much improved and has really been putting in a shift of late. Still would never be a regular starter in any current side selected by a manager with ambition and purpose.

"Spurs were average, and there for the taking? How on earth would you fucking know? Very few teams can look good away from home against a team worth ¬£500mil who have 11 players camped in their own box. There wasn't space to fucking move in our box If the roles were reversed, and Spurs played how we did, and we played like them, ever single person to a make would be cunting them to the high heavens for being the most gutless, boring cսnt football team that ever existed. I noticed Northern Spurs enjoyed the game, I bet he fucking did. Get the bunting out, we drew at home by being cowards. Whoop de fucking doo."

"""Coufal must be the worst right back in the division an all."" Bit harsh that. He's had 7 assists this season, none of our players has more. The only defender in the whole PL with more is Trippier and a lot of his are from corners and free kicks. No doubt we could do with an upgrade but you can't fault his effort or the goal contributions he's made."

"I was pleasantly surprised with his approach. Whilst we sat back for last 20 I thought we were more attacking than most Moyes teams against the clubs above us in the division. Also I think given the players at his disposal he picked the right team and apart from giving Mubama a bit of a run out for 10 mins as replacement for Antonio at the end I don't think he could have made subs as there was no-one on the bench. However, the fact we have no bench at all is entirely down to him. We have no decent second string and Moyes has been here for years. He is a fraud."
